Yes there’s literally a tool for that.
Stupid question… can you just use one Allen wrench on each side?
Protip (or DIY dirt bag tip rather) you can make a chainring nut wrench out of a penny. File a flat edge, then make 2 slots.
I don’t understand why you can’t just use a flathead screwdriver.
