Guys I bought vintage road bike and I rly love it. Problem is it's too good for commuting. They steal bikes like too much and it's matter of time when it's gonna be stolen. Plus the road rly sucks for a road bike. I'm sending you pictures of a bike that i was driving 15 years ago. It's driven only 2-3 months. Needs to clean, lube it and change cables. Is it good enough for commuting? It will be used for going to work 7 km and back so 14km per day in summer winter rain everything. I know that the bike was very cheap and it's fake mountain bike but I think it will be great for commuting or should I just buy 90s mountain bike?

  1. No. It is a bike shaped object. These sorts of ‘full suspension ‘ bikes with the rear coil are garbage.

I would say yes, it’s crap, but as long as it moves forward I don’t see why not. In addition, this way you avoid having it stolen, that is an important point. Where I live you see many of those bicycles of men who go to work in the fields on them.

It’s a little heavy, 7km with a 20 kilo bike can take a while but if it’s already yours there’s nothing wrong with it.

  3. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who is looking to buy a bike, but you already own it, so you may as well ride it until it breaks or gets stolen.
