Hilly. Took four 10 minute breaks. Passed a tour group with matching panniers and I wonder if anyone asked the guide what the hell my situation was! 😆 45×17 baby. I tried 44 and it's too spinny, this is my fav gear. If I lived anywhere hillier, it would involve 42-44 and a lot of ted shred I guess which when you're passing grizzly bears or entire families of tourists on a tight path I'd rather just stay seated and harden tf up!! Cheers

Ps I'm aware brakes, fenders etc exist, they are not on my track bike. This is like the skateboard of bikes when you take it out of a velodrome and put mountain bike parts on it. It's for fun.

  1. My stem ~is~ 5mm too long, but at the same time I’m thinking after this ride, a Thomson zero setback post will help the way I ride a lot. I’ve seen some of these specialized saddles crack before too and interested in sampling an SMP. Also I swear my 75’s were stiffer than my 7600’s… This setup will continue to get gnarlier but it’s oddly a point of pride to say “no carbon, no ti”
