I am building a custom bmx
I am 5,5
I have a mate that know a lot about bmx
I asked about wtp and he mentioned they are a pretty mid brand.
He said that they are not liked much because they stole Ruben alacrantra full sus bmx idea.
He told me they are an 5 or 6/10 brand and not a great bmx brand.
I have a friend that ride the wtp doomsayer frame and he has no problems with it.
Should I get this bundle?
I don’t know much about the forks but the frame is a popular one?
Any help will do
Thanks

That’s a steal for £150 if it’s a new frame and new forks. For reference I’ve just bought a purple doomsayer “like new” for £145.
Wethepeople do some entry level bikes but if you spend a bit more they do get better
My mate had like a 2012 wtp arcade brand new and snapped the headtube and he wasn’t a very advanced rider so wasn’t doing too much
I’ve got a 2008 WeThePeople four seasons right now and it’s doing me well though
lol what bollocks WTP one of the few brands offering lifetime guarantee
Lol your friend is bitter. They didn’t steal Ruben’s idea. They both had the idea independently, you think Ruben was the only one to think what if I put suspension on a BMX bike? We all had that thought in passing, he was just one of very few people to follow through with it to any tangible extent. WTP just have more money to get the ball running on production so they were going to beat Ruben to market but held off for a bit out of respect. As for WTP being a mid brand, that is, if I may put it into terms your friend would understand, absolute bollocks. WTP/Eclat is one of like 2 European brands actually doing r&d and not just slapping stickers on catalog parts from Taiwan, the other notable one being Fly. I say get that combo. A decent fork is £100 new. At this rate you’ll have a fully custom bike for the price of a mid level complete.
Wtp make some of the better aftermarket frames, with some very high end tech that you won’t see as much if at all on other brands. Lifetime warranty also is a bonus. This I can spot already is part of the old Uk distribution of wtp bankruptcy stock, hence it being cheap. As for the whole “they stole Ruben’s idea” they didn’t, full sus bmx has been around on and off for decades, and tbh wtp with their larger buying power made a bike at a price that Ruben couldn’t make happen anyway.
Holy hell that’s a steal!
