My bet is the Nishiki might be a bit overgeared for that terrain. Unless you’re Jan Ullrich, I’d consider the other one, especially since the rack gives you the option of bags to carry your stuff, and the gearing looks a little more touring-friendly.

How long of a trip is this, are you going to be carrying a bunch of gear/clothes/etc or is it just a nice long day trip?
IMO, if it’s in ready to ride condition, the Nishiki might be a bit overpriced, unless in really good shape and fully-overhauled or something. I’d go more for $50 if it needs a bunch of work, $100 if ready to ride, but maybe more if you live in a hot market.
The mountain bike is a mystery. I suspect it’s maybe on the more entry-level side but hard to say going off the pictures.
