  1. New to the hobby and was able to pick up this 97′ Stumpjumper M2 up on Marketplace for a good price. I knew I wanted to convert it to a rigid fork and add a swept bar but wanted to keep the costs lower.

    I have a whole list of new parts I’d like to get like a new wheelset, pedals, a rack and other accessories but for now I’ll hold off lol. New components added:

    * Ebay Cromoly Rigid fork
    * Public Bike’s Public Brunch Handlebar (cheaper albatross alternative)
    * Sunrace SLM10 friction shifters
    * Shimano BR-T4000 V-brakes
    * WTB Volt Saddle
    * Amazon special grips, stem, headset spacers, cables/housing

    Not bad for a first build. Some constructive criticism:

    The saddle will be more comfortable if it is pretty much level. The forward tilt is going to cause you to overcompensate to keep yourself on it and will eventually cause muscle pain in various places.

    Your housing is too long pretty much everywhere. Not the worst of problems, but you may catch one on something tree related at some point and wish you hadn’t.
