  1. I loved riding in Croatia/Hrvatska! My route was a little different, though — more in the inland part and islands, less along the coast, which probably meant less traffic. The day I rode from Slovenia to Croatia was fantastic — a tiny little road up in the mountains with a car about every 30 minutes — and then a huge pizza and a beer at the end! And I had a hilarious time with some guys in Varazdin — a drunk conversation in English/German/Italian/French/Serbo-Croatian, with people shouting out suggestions whenever someone couldn't think of the right word. And, man, fantastic beaches!
