thing underneath like the arob bra I will call it underneath his jersey as well the arrow gloves on so he is committed today and I’m sure you know he’s confident in his Sprint but if he’s putting all this on as well he wants to give himself 100% the best chance he’s got so a little bit of information for you there com thanks Adam Adam also sent me a video a few minutes ago which was another Rider no another Rider not in the brakeway that we just saw a few moments ago vard stack Langan of UA te Emirates also needed the mechanic’s help from the team car to cut off his overshoes I mean in pursuit of speed and aerodynamics these clothing that the Riders are using becomes ever tighter to the point where it has to be removed with scissors e e e e e e they’ve lost nearly a minute in the last few GES if their timing is it was accurate on on both the checks we’ve seen didn’t feel like the pace behind had gone up hugely we still got Peter Siri on the front here Milan is loitering so maybe he’s realized it was so easy to get the remaining points at the first intermediate Sprint of the day you might as well tie up the remaining points at this one as well and the others have given up no Caden Groves no Tim merer jue Lopez is going to have a Sprint bobbing his [Music] head so Milan takes the remaining points behind the fourman move now despite his best efforts juane Lopez couldn’t quite get past his sprinting teammate to pip into the post there you might see on social media on Leal track and also Euros Sports likely who shared it a few days ago that Jonathan Milan got onto juampe Lopez’s bike in his casuals and trainers to see what power output he could do there to confuse the coach of juampe Lopez as to how he was able to put out so much power I think he did 1300 watts in those trainers so the injo done means there’s one more intermediate point on Route before we get into our finish Sprint in Piva uh that is the second intermediate Sprint of the day in Mar Lago with 462 km remaining my est3 on the left what a Jed attack it’s been for that man and indeed for all three teams represented in the race in this in the Breakaway should I say PF group bani close to Stage Victory a couple of days ago of course with pellet Zari EF education easy post or EF Education First getting there stage wi with G steinhauser just 24 hours ago we’re about to get a visual representation from our race helicopter as to the gap on the road between this fourman move and the main pet on behind it’s been yo-yoing I would say every time they get close they’re informed by the sports directors and the team cars behind you’re too close knock off the pace see Bor H go on the right hand side there just bringing their Rider up towards the front that being Danny Martinez Danny van Popple no longer a part of this race he’s gone home as has Florian lip ofit they’re down to just the six Riders uh but for Danny Martinez this is a huge result if he can continue this all the way to the finishing R even if he does drop from second to third Robbie yeah absolutely it’s been a fine performance from the Colombian and I’m I’m liking his his grit and determination his Defiance as well he he’s he’s up there on his own without a a super domestic in the mountains but when the others are trying to put pressure on him he responds by attacking course in his younger years he was very promising I think a lot of people were looking to him to get that first Podium result in a grand tour never really quite worked out for for him for various reasons obviously won the Criterium to doofan a few years ago when he was riding for EF at the time Road here in the service of inos grenadiers just a few years ago got fifth himself that year that remains his best result to this point in a grand tour little weather update for everyone I was going say for you Dan but the for everyone really particularly the riders in the jro unfortunately it looks like they’re not far off from riding in the rain again uh there’s there storms and heavy showers coming across and at the time around the time they’re due to finish it should have just stopped raining in parua they’re going to ride through it on the way in and it’s looking likely that the roads will be wet at least wet Road if not still raining a little bit at the time of the finish so it’s just going to be one of those days from from wet to Sunny back [Music] again those days can be really difficult too if particular if it’s a little bit on the chilly side when it you go from nice and warm and sunny the blood’s pumping Everything feels good and then it rains on you and your legs can sort of have this seizing feeling I to get that little bit in races there was uh just all these little factors that go into but I think the the main thing is it’s going to make the Pelon extremely nervous GC Riders their teammates trying to be at the front slippery conditions a couple of tight Corners television viewers a warm welcome back as things stand sun’s out here in Northern Italy but according to Robbie mccuan it won’t be out at the finish in Piva an update for television viewers it looks like it might not be raining when they get there but the rain would have passed through so we could well have wet roads yeah it’s blowing across I was just trying to take into consideration our 1 hour time difference with the with the Finish you said just brilliant Sunshine down there in troviso at the moment uh but that’s been the nature of the day it was at one point early in the race the the Breakaway were riding in conditions like we see now Sun you can see there Shadows on the road and the bellaton were rain jacket still on and it was teaming down with rain it’s just one of those days where it just comes across and it’s that really quite violent change from beautiful sunny conditions to to pouring down rain does it change who you would see as the big favorites for today’s win if if there are wet roads into the Finish or does it not change too much I I still see Jonathan Milan as the big F what it does it does create a lot of uncertainty and it certainly creates uh one danger but it also creates opportunity for someone who’s willing to go on a a late explosive move either a kilometer to go through that tight left-hander or even entering the final corner with uh just over 400 m to go if you can make your way into a good position really attack that last corner and hold it up rely on whoever’s behind you not being able to follow not having the skills or The Bravery to hold the wheel someone could really spring a surprise in conditions like this we were talking to n earlier on this morning weren’t we about how he would play it with a GC Rider of course he worked a lot very successfully for yis vineo over the last few years and Primos RIT how he would play it if he was in a team in a position of uat Emirates at this race in that pagat has a lead of close to 8 minutes around 8 minutes should I say in the second place of the classification uh he was initially saying that he’d be in around 60th position I put it to him that why don’t he just ride off the back coming in towards the Finish be as safe as possible for patcha and the teammates that stay around allow Milano and Oliva to do their Sprint and Sprint lead outs in towards the Finish but if you want to stay safe we better to be than 10 or 20 seconds off the back of the peleton and just taking your own lines taking things easy through the corners I think for the risk of staying within the pelaton I’d rather lose 30 seconds or a minute by the finish and make sure I stay upright if the weather is wet or at least the roads be interesting to see how they play it I can’t imagine that happening that’s just how I would play it oh did he get him straight under yep oh was a bit careless Thomas sh almost a strike yeah and we’ve seen the past just ask Gant Thomas how dangerous that can be uh no not really oh there we go it’s down to 42 seconds and Nan saying that it might Coke some fresh attacks out of the Pelon and that’s exactly what happened stepan Deb of the EF education easy post closely followed though by Dan oler you’re not going anywhere marked and shut down straight away the Curious part about this attack by stepan debot is is he’s got Miguel Honore his teammate in the break he’s okay maybe a great team move try and bridge and then the teammate who’s up they’ve been in the break riding all day starts to work as hard as he can try and open things up for his fresh teammate coming across but I guess two is better than one though particularly with fresh I mean to give them their dues the breakway at 40 seconds has no chance whatsoever if it’s a breakaway plus one or two fresher riders that join them it makes it harder but the sprinters teams I have to say brought this on themselves in the way they’ve controlled things today they have I me that that’s the thing when you keep a break so close and everybody knows it’s no chance of staying away you’re going to catch it most likely a long way from the Finish then yes you you quite often get fresh attacks particularly towards the back end of a grand tour because there are so few opportunities left in this race for anyone to win a stage tomorrow’s a really tough one most likely a bunch Sprint on Sunday in Rome well was if Robbie Mur and myself needed any reminding that we’re getting old I was ignoring it there y steinhauer on the left and on the right here looking back to his stage wi from 24 hours ago the Third Rider at this race born in 2001 to take a stage Victory how many Grand Tour stages did you won by 2001 Lobby um only one oh Late Bloomer yeah it was yeah yep I’m um I’m hoping that in the the next have a couple of close calls and and give us the impression that they’ve got the capability then go out on a day like he did yesterday and what I found also equally amazing about his win yesterday got in the early break oh no not what I thought you were going or you can go on that next whatever it might be U is you got in the early break got got caught much like it looks like today’s break is going to do with a long way to go then things sort of eased up everybody looked at each other so he went again what I thought you were going to say was about how much time he spent it I said I wonder if he’s ever going to get out of the saddle and then about 3 seconds later but was the only time he he I saw him stood up out of the seat the entire last 40K of that stage here goes Eduardo be launching an attack down the right hand side of our shot left hand side of the road you can see sudar Quick Step reasonably quick to re back behind but as you can see he’s only got a 22 second time Gap to shut on this lead group and this could be the end of the breakway this will surely be the end of the breakway did you see the sud quickstep team in reaction a rider on either side of the Pelon and then sort of falling into formation all right you get in my will I’ll try and Lead across and uh look at them just the desperation to shut this down quickly splits behind such as the speed they’re having to ride out to try and close down the powerful Italian from bis M Lisa bike know n van hoong has been in regular contact with Eduardo aeni over the last few days he was determined to still put on the show this is a local stage let’s not forget Dan Ola coming to the front along with Joseph churny from Le Trek and sud out quickstep respectively as they look over their shoulders though they’ll notice their teammates are struggling to close things down behind them big move from the big Italian that’s the Breakaway at the top of shot so he’s halfway [Music] across personally I’d like to see aeni save an attack like that for about 1.25 to go he has history of that doesn’t he yeah likely winner from this group you just never know and they’re going to have a much better chance Robbie OB staying away if they have that fresh Firepower from AI yeah I I do agree with you you saw them look over their shoulder and sort of give it a little bit of extra juice um but yeah they’d be better off not trying to hold off aeni give themselves just a few seconds of easier pedaling let him get into the wheel he might need to recover for a minute or so and then start to to work with the fresh legs of aen but uh look at the shape of the Pelon though they they’re taking this very seriously he’s not there yet as I mentioned they’ve picked up the pace that front group of four and he’s clearly struggling inside the last 60 km of the penultimate Sprint stage of this year’s duralia we’re on our way to Piva fourman move went up the road after 20 km or so of attacking this morning they are shortly about to be joined by a man in yellow Eduardo affini riding for bisma Lisa bike teams behind of Leal Trek and sudar quickstep tried to close it down but they couldn’t yeah the team’s expectation of them was okay just drop back in and go back to riding like you were but they they would have blown themselves up I had a couple of messages that I’ll read out before passing you back over to Rob hatch shortly and Sean Kelly uh Adam blly on the motorbike has noticed that Alberto Dai chose a very bad moment to take a nature break uh just before Eduardo aini went on the attack so he’s on his own the Sprint of Tudor Pro cycling uh in the cars trying to chase back on behind uh also also had a message from Nan van hoyong I’ll do my best to read it out cuz it’s in Flemish see if you understand what I’m saying hopefully there’s no swear words in it I’ve got no idea of swear words in in femish uh nson said the Ido train start up the rails no the Welker train Edo Eduardo the Edo train start up the rails the the Edo train is on the rails marks out of 10 uh Sol six I mean apart from his name which I didn’t recognize cuz I was listening for that bit wrong yeah um apart from that I’m giving you nine out of 10 oh thank you very much good zero out of 10 for my pick for today’s stage win I’ll remind you from the Breakaway this morning I chose a man who was not in the race for about the last 5 days no Phil bouse in this race anymore but he’s one of the very very few Riders and sprinters should I say we’ve headed home this year compared to normal at this point point in the Jalia now I’m going to get you in a moment Robbie to look at the weather forecast again as I pass back to Rob hatch because we’ve had a message from Doug Ferguson our producer on the ground to say that whatever your forecast says he’s at the finish and it’s bone dry yeah CU he’s cuz he’s looking straight above him if he cares to look a little bit to the west and waits another 20 minutes he’ll be getting water in his eyes not only will it be raining in his face but’ be crying because I will have been correct and he’s wrong gee I hope I’m right Phil B has he probably sat at home laughing on the sofa watching this no I think you also be crying I mean there was a a planned abandon though wasn’t it as far as I know there was a message s were no more normal stages that suited him that came from the team I thought hang on a minute there’s two Sprint stages left yeah extra work to do now with the uh the Train on the way of the Rails this will be hurting P he was one of the Riders who tried to react to the acceleration or the attack of Eduardo aini um so the the sudo quickstep riders that tried to shut it down really quickly was also one of the little track Riders I mean they they went full Sprint basically behind him to try and close the gap and just could not make an impression so he now got himself across but that that is not only the Riders tried to chase him have been hurt AI will be hurting too that was a a massive effort to separate himself from the pelaton and ride across the the Gap to the break I wonder how long he’s going to need to sort of really get his legs back underneath him he’s by any means he’s not sitting on the back and saying I I can’t do a turn cuz I just got here he he realizes the urgency of this it’s still 53k to go but with just 26 seconds lead uh he needs to just get up there and do everything he can as soon as he can I still don’t give them a chance of staying away then again I remember saying that on the stage into Lua and we’ve said that on this stage before as we see many ATT tribute cyclist p and winning here special enough winning at the jro special enough as Helo Sanchez knows no break away for him today be hoping that Fernando gavidia can finally finish one off that he launches couple of messages coming through by the way as well suggesting that Phil bous had been suffering from a little bit of illness like a lot of riders have been at M Jun Talia accumulation of factors to him to abandon five at the front then hor now being joined by aini four Italians in an adop Italian 21 seconds well for the moment being chased by Juan Lopez P the Saidi helping 52.2k to go Sunshine out now that weather’s really changed now Rob I know you’ve been looking at the radar and what have you but it’s looking nice where we are now that’s amazing you can only go by what you’ve you’ve got above your head at the time there’s uh clouds in the distance the radar says it’s moderate to Heavy Rain that’s on the way and I i’ I’ve seen it so many times before in the DU of detal I remember actually riding a St I remember really really well in this region riding up to sandon deave just outside Venice beautiful day on the flat roads on the The Plains here and then the black clouds in the sky was like a a tsunami welling up in the distance once we got to the Finish circuit the at time the the puddles were over the rims That’s How deep the water got on the road ouch felt a bit like that watching it earlier on today at the start oh you also look be where behind where the Riders are now the sky is very dark and gray so i’ would love for them to be lucky and be able to dodge it but it looks like it’s coming over fairly widespread it’s filled in over the back as well isn’t it you can’t see the the hills mountains Alps and dolomites in the distance it’s a much more dramatic version although I come from in Northwest England in L show where Pendle Hill disappears and you know that the match is going to be called off in the afternoon this a little more impressive around here coming up to martelo in the intermediate Sprint time to welcome back sha Kelly for the final 50 km sha we’ve been having a nice launch watching this pass by any chance of any excitement with edini getting involved in that now five Carriage train at the front well I think it’s uh he was trying and he wasn’t allowed so it’s just a little bit to get back here and he was waiting for his opportunity to hit them and you know make it more difficult for uh the sprinters teams the guys that did not give him any leeway at all to start this morning 50ks to go what that fi looking to try and get something for this Malisa bike they have one stage win through all King into that pocket and he’ll need some of that sustenance that Dan and N we’re talking about earlier on today he’s 27 now isini from manova too far further down the road and weather changeable into the province of venetsia just up one more Province to head into that’ll be the final one of day when we get into the last 10 kilometers in kadova and then around the city in Northeast Italy where the jro Del Veno finished in the past city of around 2, 2,5 215,000 people if we can readwrite you can tell we’ve just been for lunch can’t you it’s a lovely place to visit and we get to finish today in PR de la one of the most impressive City squares in the whole world couple of 90° turns to get towards the Finish Line nice long straight run until we get to those final couple of turns in the last K though they will honory my Petro Bon feli they’ve been joined a few kilometers back by the man at the back here who tried to get in the break at the start of the day Eduardo aini five strong Riders but only 22 seconds and this is the weather for the moment it’s sunny for the moment is dry a lot of nervous pin points coming up here [Music] though that’s the thing when you get to all of these Phoenician towns towns with little bits of Industry on the Ed of town you’ve got roundabouts narrow roads the road Furniture changes again in this part of Italy once more it’s also pan flat and you often get as well jent these little sort of ditches left and right around him because there’s always water around on the Venetian plane y not really much place for it to go is there except in the ditch well we do we do hope that this rain holds off and they can just dodge their way around the heavy heavy showers in the area they can just get a little bit lucky cuz it’s it’s always much nicer to see a completely dry finish coming into a bunch Sprint that Bunch Sprint that there’s no bad luck involved no no crashes or anything interfering with just seeing Head to-head to Head speed matchups and that’s what we’ve been very lucky to see so far in a lot of the Sprints let’s hope that it but maybe the others need some rain so it’s not a head-to-head speed match up because Jonathan Milan has been stomping them we’ve just seen Lampe Lopez best Jonathan Milan impression a few kilometers back as well it was a pretty good one too the head bobbing I’m sure that clip will be repeated make sure you check our at eurosports cycling social channels I’m sure you’ll find that and a few others you might even see a bit of choice language that was employed on the Breakaway by accident yesterday you might find Robbie there later on let’s go and find Adam now then you already I’m going to ask you oh I’m going to ask you why they’re holding the break at 30 seconds is that okay right I’m here with Mickey sha we’re in car number well it’s little track number two so we’re quite far behind the pelaton Mickey why are we holding the break so close yeah I think it’s a it’s a fast day fast finale a lot of Corners lot of turns means the brake can go far and you don’t see them so we are a bit afraid they would arrive because honor has really skin suit on he’s really on a mission so we yeah we keep it Clos and that’s our our goal and is there a lot of communication with the Riders you know talking to each other with the cars in front talking with you guys getting the time information yeah it’s a constant exchange between the Riders and us they always want to know where where they are in terms of a gap to the break it’s really important for them so they work with us and in the morning actually meeting we already said we don’t want to give more than one and a half minutes so it’s yeah it’s good it’s good like that perfect Mickey good luck today thank you hey you like my chick lamino wait oh yeah baby it’s too hot though I worn too many clothes thanks Nikki back to you guys thank you that was the Raby Nesbit version of wearing the MAA chiclamino they’re automatic all sort of well there’s not holes in it yeah but it’s off on Zips it’s a a lighter shade intermediate Sprints competition as well he took the inter jle this for the intermed Sprints competition not maiai Camino points but intermediate Sprints competition and well it’s getting interesting up there it’s getting very very tight and tense at the top well Pi thron took the first one uncontested Fier Elli just sat in the wheel F had his heart set on that one most certainly but yeah just going back to the finale of this race I mean once they they take a sharp right turn at 9 km to go the next corner is at 1K to go makes me feel like it’s time for another visit I’ve been a couple of times loved it got to choose your times haven’t you when you visit Venice I was there post jro well the jro was actually still on while I was there because I decided I might skip out a week early save myself for the tour to France and my wife flew down to Venice and we we had a few days there before going home first to run the jilo back there and he was famous for providing logistical challenge to getting in around now here’s Yan tratnik Eduardo aini up the front sh from share there made the move into the car after 18 years as a pro Rider Swiss joining a new team taking on a new role you said that Luca guilo was the man who really attracted him to that new team worked with him at the Swiss Federation before interesting to think that they find this still dangerous would you be as worried as Sher is about this Breakaway sh well you’ll never know with the Breakaway you know how good they are and uh they just take no risk now at all and uh it’s been the case again today all day they never allow this break away to get uh you know any um major advantage at all time wise and he do attack again the wind isn’t up at the moment not yet never know could get an inos moment like we had a few days ago get your eyes on [Music] it Bunch Gallop time they’ll be hoping there’s no donkeys there I’m glad to see they they’ve got two of them cuz they get very lonely on their own do they there’s no loneliness in the Breakaway all five of them working hard trying to stay out together but they might be less lonely soon because they might be among the 144 Riders left in the Jour Talia if they’re about to be reabsorbed because said be a very difficult J for and uh you know today was a day where we does GC main was to come the Riders who are you know pretty much uh out of their uh strength all together hanging on the rear of the p 12 seconds could be another issue again if they bring this back now then there’s that moment where people be wanting to attack again s our Quick Step they want to just keep using the same Riders to control not delve into their Sprint trains and deplete those and that’s where we got the standoff on stage six have everyone welcome back to a fast Jalia stage stage 18 leaving F prier all the way to part of the average speed right up there one long line here trying to chase five strong riders in a breakaway 38 K to go Sean Kelly’s just told us that we are faster than the fastest average time schedule if you want to make sure you hear everyone of sha Robbie mccuan and all the rest of our experts pronouncements make sure you join us on Discovery plus where you can watch uninterrupted coverage throughout the season well as you said Rob has been a very fast stage 3 hours clicked over they’ve done 140 km that’s an average of 46 1/2 km an hour not the fastest stage we’ve seen but that is solid racing after nearly 3 weeks of everything that Italy can throw at them SE keeps racing keeps riding five Breakaway Riders fly around that corner look at these crowds I repeat there’s nothing going on here they’re not racing for anything here but The Whole Town’s dressed in pink they’re out to celebrate a sport they are in love with a country they’re proud of and an atmosphere that is absolutely [Music] Sensational they’ve never w a stage yet yes well they have been uh really um you know performing well in this jro and uh you know we’ve seen them um in the uh Sprint finals we’ve also seen them in some of the breakaways um and they’ve had a good race a very good race but you know the win that’s would what really finish it off for them and if Dani could you know take it here today what a story that would be uh in his home uh area his home region and uh yeah there uh they’re they’re still in with that shout and uh there’s a lot of pressure on him because we’re running out of running out of time really for uh Deni to win um you know one more Sprinter stage left and uh you know that was pretty much a guaranteed one at the bigger sprinters you know will be up there but again uh you know you just never know and what a story it would be because we know and in in the big races the big CHS he won he always wins L and if he could repeat that again my God that would be a a fabulous one and you know going to this team Dani you know to the pro cycling if he could do it there well then that would be the race you know just really made for the T the team and it would be a huge success well last year Road two grand to as it was on stage 17 to cowly at this particular stage going down to the plane in the Venetian area the country where he won the year before if you think I think it was the other pan flat stage the Emiliano Romano stage 2022 his first Grand stage win and it was inia where he won so they’re the two stages he’s won both of those days have not had classified climbs in today had one it was early on and they were already going downhill let’s see 14 seconds this is holding they’re having to work really hard behind here just keeping it in check bad Jolie committed course we’ve seen Juan Lopez riding there Peter S Fuda Pro cycling floron stalk has been doing some work lead out trying they’ve got Camp Trend team and F he’s the the last man the lead out man former Swiss Champion it’s EO time again this is the finishing part of where will have the Sprint finish there was a bit of a Sprint there and look it looked like it was a local winner ma Italia stage winner [Music] there and the places behind were well fought out for even the non-s sprinters were in [Music] Action a good time was had by all all smiles and all dry which is how we want it to stay on those sort of cobbles and Paving coming into the Finish that’s not what we want to have a problem with 33 and A2 km to go 13 seconds is the gap O Okay Le off the back here Wonder there been an issue or it’s the last minute break hasn’t really been up there in the spr look at that just one top 10 that’s that sixth place on stage five went for an nature break there you go you got to pick the right time and it hasn’t really been the right time for the last 30 something kilometers if he got to pick it isn’t it yes well that’s been the problem uh for uh the last 30 kilm and near are on today as well the way they were riding along it’s always uh difficult so you have to pick your moment and you uh you see other the Riders going if you see a lot of riders going you see a big name going that’s the time to go because if there is a and attack out in the front of the peleton well that guy if he’s in the GC he’ll have teammates around him or they wait up for him so yeah you get back that bit easier but doing it alone always risky in a day like today yeah you’re probably Wai and Wai and maybe Kell was waiting there to see what would happen maybe the break would come back and there be a little bit of a downtime but it ain’t happening I’ll wait for the L I’ll wait for the L I can’t wait anymore what’s happening with The Gap here because it was down to about 89 and slowly slowly this group have sort of grabbed the big Tu tug of war rope and they’ve tugged it towards their side you know there’s enough firep power to tug it again the other way but this is this is a real strong fight they maybe don’t want to quite catch them yet so they’re just Feathering it trying to let them drift out a few more seconds and try and hold it at a really small Gap but one big enough to give the break maybe a tiny bit of hope that they keep riding like they are because you run the risk if you keep them too close that they go oh well if you’re going to keep us here we’re just going to sit up and then you can get yourself in a in a tricky situation where you get other Riders going on the attack and new fresh attackers to try and control bit of Breeze straight into the faces of the Riders at the moment and that would suggest that that weather that’s hanging it seems to be hanging just outside pwa at the moment often right in front of a bit of a a weather system you get pretty Gusty Breeze I mean looking into the distance you sort of see the cloud it’s not as not all that clear but it seems to be just hanging not quite getting onto the race course or into the finish yet hopefully it stays like that looking at the vital very proud identity local identity in the venor very thick Regional accent from here as well by Italian speakers you can see the curious mix of beautiful little towns and then on the outskirts of these huge industrial zones e no they certainly don’t don’t and it’s it’s reminiscent of the days where we saw FASA borta riding for Alexandro um pyo and then Aqua saon riding just doing all the work full trust in the outcome at the end of the day and quite often they were [Music] right baly with those two Riders there reminded they’ve got Sprinter of their own here joanni lonardi has had a couple of placings all the talk about little Tre Jonathan Milan Tim meru on the other Sprint we’ve mentioned Caleb Yan the other Aussie Kaden Groves Alberto Dai at home but there’s also Fernando gavia there’s tibius Lund zanello Molano piy and anel kovski who’s up there in second place the other day the former polish Champion now riding for kis he wrode a very good Sprint the other day he rode a very good finale and he’s he’s daring as well he’s willing to just throw himself amongst it but he’s got the speed to back it up as well because he he came from quite a long way off and he didn’t look to threaten Milan but he was certainly gaining ground and and he was looking good into do in he’s great you can see them for Miles off looking Venetian Towers Center of every town many professional bik raders who live and train in this region will see them day in day out it’s the pedon behind now having a yearly look at things in the Veno region and they’re looking at the five men in the Breakaway just ahead of them still hanging out they’re still waiting Mel ree here at the back Sprint to L now ARA B Bay hotels they did have y bonts racing in the same pelan as his cousin Quinton Hermon and David Decker formerly of visma Lisa B from a good cycling family and of course we saw Pro sunwin yesterday not happening this time with Eric Decker son David has had to go home 9 seconds still holding this is aini the pink helmet on said Earl on in the J they’ve just released it was on the EF website Jonathan volters was talking about this but they’ve released an exact replica of those Z and EF colored pink helmets by uh man factor of Puck and they’ve been on show they won yesterday can see that Honore is trying to do something again today it’s wonderful to see the reaction from Matti Bell yesterday the emotion pouring out of him this is what they came here looking for searching for and with a young man who they really believed in despite his nerves starting a grand tour as well you could go after that with the legs yesterday in the mountains this is a much more difficult Affair it’s about having a lottery ticket as well as the legs a lot of things have to go wrong for these guys to have a chance don’t they guys yeah a lot has to go wrong for the pelaton which is in their own hands and that’s how they got it wrong on stage six into Luca and a lot has to go right for these four five rather um but no you you wouldn’t put any anything on them staying away but you some days you end up thinking oh maybe I should have put something on and looking at the Finish Shan I know you been studying everything it looks simple to a point and then you get past 1 kilm to go yes it is a pretty straightforward finish but again inside that final kilometer it does get you know left and then it Go R has been all difficult all day even when ay joins it here you know the terrain uh it’s in the um advantage of the pelaton here chasing because we don’t have any little times in the end where it would maybe take the riders that have been riding off the front of the Pelon they get pushed back in the in the p on a bit more and then it would get just unorganized uh the chase back there but that hasn’t been the case here and uh for our leaders for the Breakaway uh you know the four men we had out originally and then being joined by a it’s just you can see here they have knocked it off a little bit again I think they feel that you know just in inside the 25 km that’s what 12 or 13 seconds what has been dangling at it’s uh it’s Advantage to the uh to the B punch and the uh the Sprint teams that are controlling here and this final will there be somebody be able to try something you know for um go for a long one kilometer out or maybe 500 M out but again um yeah yeah come to the point where there’s a lot of uh fast men that haven’t got anything here anything else room they will take more risk because they see but today now is a day where this is my second Last Chance in This J I’m going to take big risk I risk it all if I crash what the hell and that’s the way they thinking especially some of some of the smaller teams the fast men and we have seen them here some of the you know uh the uh Wild Car teams they are the guys that will take big risk us to say well if I can you know win a stage here well then that would be the making and breaking my my career and so yeah they go for it and as you run out of time that is happened and that is the the thing you’re you’re thinking when you’re in the pelaton and you’re a GC man you’re always thinking of those things you know the those sprinters are going to get so desperate they will take big risk and you’re always concerned and you know you’re just watching a bit more and you try to get to that point where the time is taken or that will be in the rider’s minds but also the big sprinters here who won already that think of that they know that you know they’re all and that know that tension there and that that’s you know that dangerous time is just coming to it and this could be the day where uh yeah something could happen it’s funny just as you were talking about that we saw tachar on the far side being moved up by his team they’re clicking new action as we get the 20ks to go and when we were watching that little g e footage we were playing out with a words a little bit and you know we saw a few famous Riders from the past sprinters nons sprinters the Sprinter we saw was a gentleman named sachat modo think back to a stage that Sacha Modo won just down the road from here in Leo 9 years ago and coming into it L for those of you who don’t know by the way he’s on this Venetian plane same sort of stage coming up to 3 km to go Alberto kador our colleague was in the pink jersey and there was a crash just before 3ks to go and it was like you’re talking Sean you know a lot of cowboys were trying to move up when they shouldn’t have been it was a long straight rad there was roundabout after roundabout and it was a pinch Point contador crashed just before 3K to go as we get a look along here with our five riders coming into stra and when he crashed he lost time and he lost the pink jersey by just a few seconds that day to Fabi aru thankfully for pachad he’s got more than a few they mixing it would he do trying to do something for Milano should he be up there even anywhere close trying to be at the front as they come into that 3 km to go safe Zone well the simple answer is he just does not need to he’s leading this race by almost 8 minutes so when things start to get hectic with maybe today because of the nature of the pretty simple run in from 10K stuck behind it it would not matter one bit even if he lost a couple of minutes 7 Minutes 42 is his lead over Danny Martinez 804 over garan Thomas the only thing that I I suppose is keeping them all up there doing what they usually do and racing to get inside that final 3K is it’s a habit and they just they just do it because they can uh and maybe tday he just he’s not the sort of say well it’s in my hands up here um although again when it comes to the sprinters and them trying to get position with their lead out men n van Hong he repeated something this morning on the Breakaway that I told him yesterday uh when we were discussing this this very thing uh and it was GC Riders up there amongst it when you’re preparing for the Sprint there’re an obstacle that has to move or be moved oh me let’s hope nobody he’s thinking like that I tell you what they’re at the front now as well that game really has started early hasn’t it Sean those inos and UAE have come over and they’ve almost taken over from that chase from the Sprint teams now yes they have and uh you know that was to be expected the Sprint teams the GC teams were going to come uh to the front because we’re getting to the uh The crucial moment here in this run into the final 3 kilm but you know talking about Tedy pog Char if he gets involved in the Sprint here today well that is a bit of a crazy one for me and you would expect the team direction as well I know he said yeah Molano I’d like to give him a lead out and put him in a good position but I think if you’re a team manager there you would say okay get to the point where you need get for the G the stay out of danger and up there in the Sprint trying to lead out when you’re in that top 10 or 15 with those guys and a lot of crazies will be here you know they just you never know what they will do they could just make a movement and just take you out and uh it could really be a disaster for him so I’d be surprised if we see him doing as we’ve seen this this race a number of times trying to help his team at Mulan in this final you think then that Machin and janetti and the sports directors marato Etc should have a quick word yes I think I think certainly they will have had had Award with them as just say play safe on the way to Padova today sight of one of the oldest universities in the world famous for its patron saint St Anthony San Antonio he’s a saint that’s said to be synonymous with recovering things that are lost there’s a few sprinters who’d quite like to meet San Antonio at the end today who’ve been struggling to find victory in grand Tours Caleb buan and most notably even longer Fernando gavidia let’s see and it’s right down the road from his Basilica that will be sprinting D he’s already found his home he’s on his way to it can he win at home that just in and around him we’re building up to a big expected Sprint finish let’s go to the finish line and check the atmosphere I’ve just driven the final 20 km of today’s stage the big point that stood out to me was 4 and 1/2 km to go where you have the roundabout is a pinch point you take the right hand side of the roundabout with barriers but taking a close look at the final 1 km you come into the final kilometer 900 M to go a leftand turn turn onto fresh tarmac it’s faster running it narrows at 800 M to go but when you get to 600 M to go it starts to open up this brings you to 475 M to go the final turn of today’s stage and you can see this final straight all uh it’s quite downhill I have to say it’s a a negative gradient it’s going to be a fast fast Sprint here into padava but it’s quite wide there’s plenty of space for the sprinters so positioning is going to be key and making sure that you’ve got lead out men still with you at this point is crucial too and of course here in the city it’s protected and it’s feeling hot thanks very much for that Hannah well the last 45475 M downhill what’s it look like now you’ve seen it on the screen well it will be hot that is sure when we get to that point as we can see here you know these roundabouts you know this is the danger point now as we’re inside this final 20 km and you know we did hear from Hanah there that 4 1/2 kilm uh the side you take is very important um and you can see going through those uh villages you know islands in the middle of the road roundabouts all of that at this space this is all ways now as we can see POG like over the center there and uh yeah further to the front of the pelaton is the safer players but you never know when a rer make a last minute change of mind he’s going to go left and then he decides oh yes maybe shotter to go to the right and he just you know changes Direction and if you’re a rer just close on his wheel you can be know touch wheel and down you go and if you’re in the proximity of those in the 10 or 15 places behind you can see yourself you know biting the T and this is uh this is going to be a really difficult one as we can see yeah what what Shan says really points to the importance of the riders that we now see on the front like Lang and the teammates of t gard it’s not just getting to the front and riding hard it’s being up there and having the responsibility to guide your team even down to the things as Sha just said who’s going to go which way when there’s a traffic Island we go the inside of it the outside of which side of the roundabout we’re going to take and them signaling that to the rest of the teams there’s no doubt in their mind that they don’t have to guess and then get it wrong cross over a wheel and go down so all these things while you’re you’re putting out 400 wats you’re at a 175 heart rate you’re exhausted after 3 weeks of racing and you’ve got the race leader or your GC Contender sitting in your wheel relying on you to do the right thing and make the right decision it’s a lot of pressure that people I think underestimate as we go along the train or the guy at the front’s got the easy bitty just riding don’t think well there’s nothing could be more wrong and we’ve just seen the overhead shot there of Jonathan Milan he went to the left towards the uee guys and then he decides no right was going a bit better then he decides to go left again and he moves across so yeah they’re all all that movement there from you know the Riders and uh yeah your bike handle of course is very important and Riders from the general classification that want to stay up here that do not like this kind of aggressive aggression for the uh places it’s a real everybody’s desperate for position lots of twists lots of turns Robbie we’re not quite on that long straight yet in the last 10ks this is the more technical part of it now yeah this is sort of the last of the the technical sections with a few changes of direction we just saw them come through a 90° left-hander a few moments ago and I’ve noticed a few sprinters that just each time there’s coming into a bunch Sprint on a flat day they track anyos grenadiers they know the reliability of of that team that they’ll be up at the front they’ve got the power to do it they begin to look after guant Thomas so just follow them around use them like they’re your own team they’ll position you perfectly oh we had oh no Alexandro dear on the right hand side is Shu as well with the bike after that little spill sure it wasn’t him who put the dent into the fence there thankfully let’s see what happened right hand side those narrowings again isn’t it these are really tricky points where they set up these banners with how many kilomet to go that one narrow you can see on the left hand side that one going narrow as well dear thankfully back on his bike we’re hearing from Adam by the way that it’s really technical a further up when it gets towards 10 km to go he’s on the messages on the communication and he’s our spy a little further up you talk about riders in and around inos graders there on the right as we look at it in those red jerseys left hand side is T Pacho team trying to take it very nice and safe you notice there is a white jersey among the inos r is that Jonathan NV rumored to be on his way by the way yeah 14 km to go maybe he’s not too interested or just allow the cars to come by and sit in the cars for a while and then get back onto the tail end of the pelor Bush it’s pretty much day over when you’re in this situation well they’ve come through we’ve seen those technical sections a number of turns roundabout small villages at the moment it stays pretty much like this for the next 3 km and there’s a very very tight right hand turn just almost right on 10 km to go which then takes them in the direction of the finish and there’s not another proper turn in the road until 1K to go so one more real Corner still to come up but this is a section where the peleton can really get reorganized start to narrow down this this Gap again but look how long they’ve left them hanging at this sort of Gap not only peleton leaving them hanging the riders in the front are putting up a magnificent effort as well well before that straight section you’re talking about and we’re looking at the map we’ve got the V view open and everything adamu there the way they Barry a certain section I think it looks like that there are a few more flowing Corners going into that 10 to 8 km to go Section he said really important to be up there at the so this is why we’ve seen the GC teams come right up here yeah what we do have I did say there’s no corners in that last sort of 10 to one but there are a number of roundabouts and and exactly like Adam’s just given through to us it always depends on what it look looks like in race trim you’re not always going to get to pass on both sides there’s going to be squeeze points coming up so it’s it’s simple in terms of you don’t have to remember a lot of corners and where they are but there’s always those pinch points and the way Adam’s describing it to us it reminds me of that day I really hope that there’s no similarities with it at the end of the day but it reminds me of that stage at sachan Moralo one it was dead straight going in but there are narrowings there were barriers there were archers every kilometer round abouts and just those moments where people were either a little bit sleeping behind or they were working too hard at the front he had them all meeting and it was a right old mess with little trer back here uh are they leing I’m just uh hang out there in front and get um closer to the finish before they close them down because you can have the difficult 4K to go and the Riders have been doing the work now Mikel b g gabier their work is done for the day it’s up to the teammates to round it off Kama FG moving up left and side navy blue jerseys on there one of the teams who’ve got absolutely nothing from this race last in the team classification several hours behind they have not got close to winning a stage yet pen was in the break once py came here on Grand to a debut after an awesome spring and we’re expecting great things of him they’re going to give him a try today there they are jerseys on navy blue there doing their best to help out ma star there’s Torres in front of gavid on the left hand side this is Ghana who you mentioned d s fck poel remember they’ve got to be when you’re trying to do that alone you know you get just uh pushed out a bit and he got squizz there as we go through another roundabout and yeah all true safe and uh yeah 8 kilm to go but uh it’s it’s all to happen I just sort a mechanical problem for one of the Riders from inos grenadiers but it’s not Gant Thomas he’s up there in third wheel on the right hand side but there was another teammate stopping with that other ride I W it there there we go not sure who it was even then I think it was a bike swap for Tam and arensman it would seem the only logical explanation for a teammate stopping and giving a bike Tam arisman is not in the front three line of riders so an issue for T and ardman and this is why this could be problem a reminder if you’re new to cycling there is ardman now behind the car being H back on of course any incidents or accidents within the final 3 kilm you get the same time any issues outside that and you have a real problem of course and you see that number two on the jersey number eight frame number on the bike so Swift he’s taken the the bike of Connor Swift and that’s how the teams will set up if so and so has a problem you’ve got the same size bike you’re the one to stop it handed over here’s that moment Swift on the radio and Magnus Sheffield just behind the team of Alpa cindering and waiting for their moment 5K to go bit early to be on the front Christopher Hamilton just brought up to be Lun but he couldn’t bring him all the way to the front he’s dropped him off in there in the mix he’s going to have to fend for himself aini a little further back this now is fer up there it’s elbows only everywhere there’s not much room at all py elbowing Caleb bu in there and I think it might have been py that Jonathan Milan was pointing the finger at a while ago he gets in there he’s Rough and Ready pi and he’s he’s not a pure Sprinter but he’ll throw himself at it he’s thrown himself onto the wheel of G Thomas right now who’s at the front and being kept at the front right now this is 4.4 K to go trying to move up as they can Le Tre they’re a long long way behind down there this is a big move now for Milan 4.2 km to go and they know that this is a pinch Point coming up Shan Kelly they have to be at the front that’s conson alongside him this is where it Narrows that really shows course knowledge yes well you can see there the pinch point that Adam was talking about a very very important one you have to be in the top places here and but it’s plenty of obstacles for these Riders as they’re on the way to the the beautiful Central Square of PR de laali there’s Riders everywhere though chud chudah Pro cying in those black Jersey’s red helmets moving up every kilometer or two we have a roundabout or a pinch point and you can tell when they’re getting the call when they’re moving it’s TR now who brings them to the front all starting a mass towards the front 3 and 1/2k to go and I just saw the first ride of into he got up to Max Walo so I’ll just push in here Max Walsh 2 M 90 kilo he ain’t pushing in on him he kept moving towards the front but they’re dragging Caden Groves up to the head of the field now ala syun on the right hand side as we look at it now this is alip on the left hand side going up to that magic number now 3 km to go Banner will be approaching that is it to anybody through here now with any incident or accident gets the same time in the general classification the lacks of pachan and Company can be out of the way if they want to be out the way for now you can see Milan moving up onto the wheel of p in a couple of riders from grou F alip at the front but the rest of his team f leberg on the left hand side Robbie and Med lead further back yeah V leberg on the wheel the RO from Anto Mar they swing across and shut everybody down to the barriers as the road slings if you’re on the wrong side you’re on the brakes you’re losing positions and vital energy that you want to save for the Sprint little Tre in the middle yasper sturing starting to push his way in conson on his will so they’re set up now for Jonathan Milan they are all in order and ready for takeoff and Caleb yuan is on the wheel of Milan for now Martis Michels a little further back than his teammate he’s just waiting with Kaden Gro but the experience Shan of mato trentin coming at 2 km to go this is such a nervy buildup well this is a real big one here we can see little TR just waiting in the middle there but Tren Jin you know want to position his man here and you know this is all about being there but not giving too much because with 2 kilm to go you have to be able to continue with your Sprinter to that point where we go where we turn at least just before the kilometer Mark the left-hander and drop him off Milan moved out to the right now by his team they threatened to get shut in when group armor came across wiggle their way out and just pushing back towards the front an El kosi just edging in on Caleb on the wheel of Jonathan Milan as Tudor are now in control for Alberto Dai look on the left as we look at it blue and white this is f Lea doing a big job to keep medle ear up towards the front there’s not too many left to lead their sprinters out at the minute Caleb is in a better position but he’s having to hit the win a little himself up there to his Michels on the right you can see pasal he’s at home today he’s going to have a go why not through the center Milan you can spot him a mile off there’s valide as well but he’s the man he’s supposed to be leading out is on the left as we look at it coming up to a kilometer to go now when we get through it’s a left turn coming up Robbie sharp left turn everyone diving in and we’ve got dry roads that is a godsend th as they come through chuda in control dayy in second wheel gavidia a little further down he has chimol with him coming up to 700 M to go now big right turn coming up look at how it narrows it squeezes it squashes they know they’re going right there’s fadv it was hesitation that saved the day the others there was no big lead out they didn’t want to hit out early and it gave the opportunity for the others to make their way back on either side Groves hit the front thought he was going to get one got swamped and merer a half a wheel to Jonathan Milan well I think it was conon who saved the day for this man not for his teammate because he was too far off and you know we did see Milan how far was he back in that final when the K when the spr was almost kicking off and uh you know he comes up and just gets beaten by a a fraction absolutely incredible and at the end of the day it was the same two occupying the top two spots this time medle second place Milan and there wasn’t much in it even though they both found themselves off there was no lead up for this man F Leber got to move him up with a kilometer to go he had to follow those wheels and well let’s try and make sense of this again sure there he is he’s alongside Milan here the right hand side he’s following power that they come by in that final 30 40 m it’s Med Le who’s magnificent again [Music] look at a cross there from valide Yan wasn’t really in there balerini had a go to was there too no support for him the celebration for Tim mer the wolf packs done it again two for him three for them a disappointing day for Jonathan Milam but was a fantastic day for team sudal Quick St they’re now celebrating here we try to grab a reaction from them here we have luk lamperti we are we are live on Euros sport you just a quick one fantastic win second one for team uh in the final you did a great job I think how was the last kilometer yeah it was super hectic uh we controlled well and then a went to the break small moment we were worried but yeah had Siri brought him back no problem and then uh yeah it was really messy in the final but yeah really it was bird and Tim again I think uh yeah they know what to do with each other and they were able to uh to pull it off we went quite early and just left them but we I also wasn’t there uh quite in the final I went earlier than I was supposed to uh because we needed to move so I wasn’t exactly there either but uh yeah so I didn’t quite see what happened thank you so much luk ler of course an amazing day for team sudal Quick Step more reactions to come soon from the Finish Line stay with us thanks Andrea Celebration Day for sud quickstep and what a j they’re having in the end both of their winners on the screen there and Med this is the latest in any Grand T’s ever [Music] won well man who was sprinting in and amongst the mix who got off ended up with 12th Place let’s hear from him how did you feel today in that spr of course you had a good chance in that final closer but I couldn’t do that and then there was a head win in the end as well of course I did a first Sprint between the two curves so I used a bit of energy there but I’m happy i’ I I managed to get to a Sprint for the win in the end and I was in the in the front in the last final meters but I I was Laing a little bit in the end of course uh there’s efforts that are put me in good step for the future of course chai was there he was going to lead out gav but it was a bit far out so I got on chim’s Wheel my old teammate he was still a little while away a little far away I tried to be in front and to be close the line yeah I think that’s going to serve me well in the future and it’s important for that 12th Place
