So I’ve just scored this gem from facebook market planing on 700c wheels with a/t tires and a modest 1x drivetrain. I’ve been trying to decode the serial number here: [LINK](https://biketoworkday.us/what-year-is-my-fuji-bike/)
But according to this the bike would be 1989 but when I cross reference earlier catalogs it would seem to be from the early 80’s. Asking any experts out there for a little knowledge, thanks!

  2. I would guess the early 80’s to be likely. Six speed freewheels were available about that time. Other early 80’s features are not on the bike. There aren’t threaded inserts for bottle cages and the rear brake cable is clamped on rather than braze ons. By 1989 the bike should have had aero brake levers. Another clue would be if the rear shifter was indexed or only friction (indexed came in about 86 of 87).

I had a 1980 fuji 12 speed Gran tourer that looked very similar with the same head badge.
