Two single piece rotors like that will be indistinguishable most of the time. You may notice a difference in noise and heat dissipation if you upgrade to a two-piece rotor.

  3. I personally avoid rotors with lots of big holes in the work surface. I found they make noise, and suspect they chew out brake pads more. From the pictured, I would choose the second.

Am I the only one who gets really frustrated that all these companies don’t leave a clear path for a dial indicator to measure run-out?

Like I guess the notches on the outer parameter add some rigidity, but why do there have to be holes everywhere?

The inner side of the breaking surface could have been early left with a clear path and still had as many holes.
