Riding alongside the Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth and Telford.
I kept going to Telford for a family visist and then back to Bridgnorth to catch the Severn Valley Railway to Kidderminster with my bike onboard.

[Applause] [Music] hello welcome to another cycling video um just a little mishap here at the beginning see a water bottle on the floor there because I caught it with my leg uh and the traffic anyway that’s it way so uh this video is from going from Broms grve um I went to tford but it’s mainly about going to Bridge North and then back using the S Valley Railway and um it’s uh it’s really lovely Journey using a gravel bike following the seven Valley and then the seven Valley Railway back this on the right here is uh elmbridge Church really Lov the part just at the west of Broms grve head over to harle B first nice little dip down and then uh climb back up unfortunately light that bit so uh here we are at Checkers which is Curel Green in Dr witch or just uh just to the south of Dr witch still heading towards hartlebury uh I was uh motivated to do this ride after to see um a route I think that cycling Nate did I’ll link below here we are coming through har Bri train station there have a a little Panic just so go over there that uh I see some uh train heading towards me I can’t stop so D Hill um still in half thebr s loads of cycl grou out that day which was really nice to see just on the outskirts of star Port this is we got and this is now getting on to uh National cycle Network 45 45 as I say there this is uh a route I’ve done a few times before not the entire route but this particular bit is the leap Gate Old Railway line not especially long but very nice Trail morning sorry it’s all right no rush thank you sorry it’s quite Ling thank you cheers thank you everyone the Sun comes out and everyone’s in a good mood that’s the great thing about gravel versus m Fike slip straight through now coming down onto the canal just outside stport to stay on ncn 45 turn right onto the canal and instant come up thank you Che oops sorry what was that it’s all right watch nice day for it just a bit windy yeah have a good ride this little bit here I always almost fall off can I and today was no exception crossing the main road over to the stowport sports club and they have a cycle track here I don’t know if you call it a cycle Speedway or whatever uh on this day uh I went there and someone looked like they were semi official in h jacket which always means someone’s official um and I say can I just going to have lap and they said yeah K which was right if there was nobody there I was going to go and have it go anyway it’s only if it’s locked up that I don’t was quite pleased that the Wahoo recorded lean angle or maybe it was the the GoPro I’m not sure yeah one lap of this on my gravel bike here with uh headwind quite strong headwind that day 15 uh takes just about 2 minutes there’s haing coming up I’m guessing if you’re racing you’ll be leading the far enough that you won’t [Music] P the Wu element roam that I’m using I’ve been less than impressed with I think next time I’m going back to Garing there’s a few things I don’t really like like fortunately and when you go off rout it uh beeps incessantly uh you can press the dismiss button but it doesn’t really work all of the time it’s getting kind of exasperated with it there [Music] my tail was w that’s the laptop so just after this uh climb up a hill to burish top Nature Reserve that’s uh very nice place lots of people walking dogs there but just as you go over the top there is this fantastic descent on trails that is is not especially difficult and as long as you stick to the main path it’s fairly obvious where to go it never really gets that steep that it’s a big problem I don’t know well obviously you always have to be careful to look out for people walking there but um as long as you keeping Lookout and you can break in time it’s it’s great thanks so now into buley and this is buley 7 Valley Station which is the next one on the line after kidderminster quickly then into buley town center lots of Road Works going on and going over the bridge really pretty Town mle we’ve got this uh Church in the middle I think it’s St ANS Church unfortunately anywhere that you go out of beely involves uh a bit of climbing and the next place where I went from here was the wire forest and but the nicest way to get there is to go up this hill and after a little bit of climbing you turn off the hill through a little Housing state and you end up on this really quiet road that just takes you right into the middle of w Forest don’t really know what that beep was for whether it was uh well them keep going or get out of my way so now this is the the nice nice road that uh goes into W Forest undulates a little bit but nothing to attack is a and you’ve got this little car park on the left hand side that you go into and that’s where the road ends and you go onto the drial way and surf for very was quite taken with it at the time and after you’ve done a bit of shallow climbing you uh do a sharp right and go D It’s the valy and after a bit more climbing through wi Forest we then go down through a car park towards a place called button Oak this is the butt not car park and then tur it in towards Ary with a really nice uh area on the river 7 and the next 7v railway station I stopped for a little break unfortunately whenever you go down to the river you have to climb back up the other side this Pub on the right hand side is a really nice Pub to visit if you’re doing anything around Harley or the the river 7 and this uh this foot Bridge says uh Dismount and push your bike which I always do and then after that the the road all right you have to climb up a little bit out of are lots of more cycling groups again oh yeah all right just uh just in front I never beening too much so it believe be the best of times as well and then uh this was unexpected I didn’t realize I was going through um a country park with a visitor center and this is sou Valley Country Park really nice looking I’ll have to go back there on the wrong route here so I had to detour a little bit through some cut grass the seven Valley Country park is near the highly uh station which I didn’t see I unfortunately missed that bit this is stunning y thought the in round there was amazing really nice foot Bridge back over the river again wow and this is the Sun Valley Country Park halt which is a um there it is Country Park there we go which is um just for people to flag down the train basically ncn 45 continues alongside the river here it can get a little bit rough in places but it’s generally very good and at the moment it’s quite overground but it’s uh it’s quite good fun just uh blasting through all the undergrow a lot of it just runs alongside the the track so if you’re lucky you can get uh when the steam trains coming past now we’re heading towards Hampton load and this section here with the wooden bridge was really nice pretty fat flat or very gentle ulations just around the corner here is is uh Hampton load s valy railway station everywhere is pretty overgrown at the moment with the sun and Rain lots of places that just g a bit mad and there is the station that is hton load station [Applause] and now uh we just make our way up to Bridge North this is just around the side of Chell Marsh Reservoir and it gets a little bit um tough to ride on if you had anything less than uh National cycle Network 45 a real where is it 18% man that was so I wasn’t happy with that climb it was only a little bit but it was really Steep and um quite slippery and quite roted at the bottom and uh as came here I took issue with it being a national cycle Network little bit SP or the rest of it but that was bit it’s maybe if it was a bit muddy you’d have to hike bik push up a little bit that was quite enjoyable and um I went a little bit wrong here and I went down this road and I was a little bit concerned that it was a private road and I was going to get shared to that by this farmer here um and I asked the stupidest question in the world ever I’m going the right way on they yeah right thank you yep I really asked him am I going the right way um but thankfully uh was nice enough to assume I meant Bridge North and not just coming idiot idiot like a few cars pass there yeah this the um this is the main road brid but it doesn’t last very long not too much in the way of Hills either and just on the left is the foot bridge for the bridge North s Valley Station uh which is the end of the line um so normally you would stop here and take a bike back on the seven Valley Railway no booking necessary and there is uh an Engineers cart or Engineers cabin section whatever where you can put bites and push chairs and uh anything else that that you need to take on and there’s to toilets on board as well so this section there is just coming out of Bridge North and making the way up to tford it’s fairly featureless it’s quite flat the road is generally good uh go through this golf club stay on the cycle Network and it just Tak you straight up to cold Port few bits like this the the surface isn’t great but it doesn’t last very long did feel like I was climbing for the entire time really nice old station here on the left which looks like somebody’s converted into uh into a private residence yeah pretty much all of it was just this uh this type of surface and then cport the gateway to tord climbing out of cport up to midley past blists Hill Victorian town was a quite a shallow rise not too taxing at all you hardly notice that you’re climbing most of the time and before you know it you’re going up towards town park so this is the way back now so jump to Bridge North and this is on the seven Valley train Refreshments available toilets this was the the the guard section and coming out of kid Minster station takes about an hour hour and a half on the train maybe a little bit less than that so you could almost cycle it as quick in all honesty but it’s nice just to uh have a drink and sit down and go back to Sauce so that’s pretty much it these bits now it’s just uh my ride home from kid Minster with this uh this lovely descent about bridge and that’s it thank you for watching uh hope you enjoyed it let me know if you want more videos like this with the ation or if
