I’ve got a mountain bike with a SRAM Eagle drivetrain. It’s going through chains faster than any bike I’ve ever had, but the chains aren’t stretched, I see scratches on the surface of the chain. These scratches are only on the side of the chain towards the cogs. I change the chain when it starts slipping teeth in the hardest gear, the last chain lasted about 300 miles, in the past I’ve been able to get 1200 or more miles out of these XO1 chains.
Parts are:
Chainring – SRAM XO1
Cassette – SRAM XO1 eagle 52t
Derailleur – SRAM GX
Chain – SRAM XO1
I’ve checked the b screw and chain length, it shifts perfectly.
Could this be an issue with not lubing enough? Any thoughts on what’s going on?

New chain slipping is the typical symptom of worn out gears.
Problem is a chain,(gx is low quality) same shit like nx or sx,Only x01 or xx1 chain,I had the same problem with gx and now only use xx1 chain(everything is perfectly)
Feed the bike it’s hungry
Only the top part of the chain is rubbing against something. Could be rubbing against front derailleur? How many speed is your group set? If group set is too wide, the chain angle from the largest/smallest cogs are too extreme and made the chain rubbing something?
