Hey everyone.
Looking to venture into the world of single speed/fixed speed as an adult and wondered if anyone in Australia had any experience buying a complete over here….
From what I’ve researched,
https://singlespeedcycles.com.au/products/the-yukon?variant=41892247896217¤cy=AUD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtvqVBhCVARIsAFUxcRtBzciLmsbGsDBVLBn4lOyAfTR5VKNA6vd81IorXPouYdkrkLV1wGYaAlDdEALw_wcB
Seems like an ok deal from what I can tell. 4130 chromoly frame which is good and a flip-flop hub which is nice. Can change from fixed to single…..
Just haven’t been in the bike world for a long time and not sure if 500 dollar bucks is an ok deal or if I should try and source my own stuff…. Doesn’t seem like there’s as many options as the us or EU…
Appreciate any and all feedback
Thanks.

Literally all of the parts are no name, and it weighs 2kg more than my steel frame road bike with gears.
That being said, for $500 AUS, it doesn’t seem too bad, I couldn’t get anything with a CrMo frame for that here in Europe.
Hey OP, I bought this exact bike about 4 months back (60cm).
As the other comment mentions, its on the heavy side but the parts seem solid for generics (so far). I elected for this over SSC’s other lighter sets (including the Al frames) because I’m over 100kg and live in Brisbane where the roads aren’t great, and I wanted it to take a beating.
The chromoly frame with clearcoat is really gorgeous. Replacing the fork and wheels is definitely my longer term plan to cut weight.
If you want measurements, contact the guys at SSC, they are really great and are happy to talk about and even customise the bikes for you (to a point).
Chromoly frame is good for that price. Other parts look cheap, but they’ll probably last you a while and you can replace them with better parts later on.
However, I would advise looking for a used bike instead of new if you want to save some cash. Bikes aren’t like cars; a used bike is just as good as a new one as long as the frame isn’t damaged. And you can often get a used bike for half of its original price.
I got a used Kilo WT (very similar bike to this one) for $200 several years ago.
You should check out some used bikes. Facebook marketplace will usually have a few sweet deals pop up if you’re patient.
26 pounds for a single speed chromoly frame I’d be suspicious of it’s actually Chromoly. I know of hi ten bikes lighter than that.
