I was about to buy the Endurance AL 7 or the Grizzl AL but started reading the comments. It seems many claim they don't sand/file down welds in the US? But the site says:

Aluminium frames just don't look this elegant. We do it by expertly filing down and sanding the welding seams, so they’re almost invisible to the casual observer.

Some of the user pictures it seems smooth and sanded, others are bulging seams. Was this an old problem or something at least fixed in the US?

  1. Haven’t looked into it in a year or two, but prior the Grizl Al use to have unsanded welds for the US but filed down in the EU/International. The website also combines reviews internationally IIRC.

In EU they even had a “Grizl AL RAW” which featured unsanded welds like the US bikes.

I haven’t looked into it in a while but it was a turn off for me in the US, the triangle they added to the rear near the seat stay looked good sanded but especially bad unsanded.

I’d bet the Endurace is sanded because it says so on the site. Pretty sure there was a point where the photos weren’t reflective (ie. Using EU sanded welds on the US site) but that got resolved. I’d shoot them an email and ask for a specific model the customer service is really helpful
