Axle is tightened to 12nm as per instructions. Still there is quite a lot of play here. Tried tightening the screw on the eyelet on the other side and that reduced the play slightly but is as tight as it will go.

Looks like your hub is loose on the axle. You can try readjusting the hub nuts, but it’s likely that the play allowed dirt in. I noticed this on my bike last week, so I took apart the hub, cleaned everything and repacked the bearings with new grease before adjusting the hub to eliminate the play. I had never done it before and it was super satisfying
Edit: this was a QR hub though, I’m not sure if the issue could be different on a thru axle hub
