    I’ve been considering doing the same, but nervous about the minimum range of gears. Looks good!

    Looks so good! And I bet it feels nice to have one less mechanical component to have to maintain. I’m planning to do the same to mine but with a chainring between my OEM middle and smallest. I have some nice little trails between work and home and want to have a proper granny gear for them.

    I have a 14-28 freewheel and a 28-38-48 triple chainring, and about 90% of the time, I just use the middle ring. But I need that 1:1 ratio (28:28) for a few long, steep hills in my area. The high range (48:14) is nice when I have a strong tailwind.
