Last year I cycled from Land's End to John 'O Groats on a old 180 euro touring bike and I loved it. Right now I'm planning to cycle the silk road from the Netherlands to China next year.
I wanna invest in a good quality bike to minimize the risk of something important breaking and to just enjoy riding it. I would love to get a Rohloff or Pinion belt drive for the reliability and lack of maintenance.
I found this second-hand bike: a Tout Terrain Scrambler x over Rohloff with 3000 km ridden on it. It is equipped with a son dynamo hub and has some minor wear damage on the back rack.
I got the following questions:
– is 2600 euro a fair asking price?
– would this be a good bike to ride the Silk Road with?
– what are the most important things to check when inspecting it?
