Could be useful for the musicians!
I made a rack for my guitar using an old back
rack, welded some loops on the metal pieces
and screwed everything together. (So that I
can unscrew every part if I want to take it off,
in case of train or flight).
I feel like I could have done it a bit more light,
but I guess it's a kind of prototype ! And also I
made it only out of recycling old things I
already had.
I've been cycling two months with it now and
the guitar has no traces of unusual scratches
or deformations… I use a 1.5cm padded soft
case (~35€). | used some foam (what I could
find in the garage), covered with bicycle tubes
to make a kind of padding on the rack. There
is no visible movement of the guitar while
cycling, I even took bumpy gravel roads
without any problems. I also added an old metal mudguard that I fixed directly on the rack with zip ties.
If anyone wants more info on the making
process, I can obviously explain more deeply.
English is not my mother language, be kind with the potential mistakes 🙂
