Pic is random lol, went a link short and am slammed with a 2.4 tire. Can I break the shadow halflink and add a link back in to pull the wheel back a bit?

If you have a nice enough chain breaker you can get away with it.
Yes, as long as the pins are in the links you can do it.
Yeah you need a specific chain tool tho
Yes & the tool kit for pressing chains isnt cheap, i have had one for dirt bikes. Make sure to use the right press size too. Happy riding🤘🏽
