Come with me on another race day as I try to remind myself what it’s like to race post-injury. It was a tough day out there as the UK threw some hot weather at us which we are never prepared for! This is my last race on the road for a little while as I now focus on getting back on TRACK!

It wasn’t fast, but it was furious!

[Music] just driving off to Cardiff ready for the Cardiff Bay 10K um which is tomorrow did it this time last year when I was coming back from my previous injury and it was a good race although it was windy um so hopefully it’s not too windy tomorrow but it looks like it’s going to be lovely as you can see the weather’s looking good still got a little bit more way to go until there I think we’re going to stop off for a cheeky Leon for dinner which will be good um and then just get an get an early night before racing tomorrow I think race starts at 11:00 a.m. so a bit of a lying and then yeah we’ll take you along tomorrow and you can see how it goes this is the chauffeur also camera m [Music] it is looking perfect how do I get out of these C here go perfect conditioned a little windy I always do the tree test see how much the trees are moving and it dictates how windy it is it’s a little bit of movement but not much so quite a bit I don’t know we’ll take it the Sun’s shining it’s all that matters it’s race day um so it’s currently half 7 we’re just going to go down for the hotel breakfast shortly and race doesn’t start until 11: which is kind of late so I think we’ll probably head over about 9:00 um we’re like kind of near the start so I think we’ll just walk over and then yeah probably warm up around 10:00 and get ready to race for 11 you’re probably wondering why I’m walking around with a shopping bag but I tend to take some of my own stuff to breakfast just so I know what I’m getting and I can be sure it sits well in my stomach this lip does not feel comfortable we’re taking the stairs on the [Music] way [Music] honey what’s the game plan then H I’m not sure he’s going to be there but just similar to last time I think go out feel uncomfortable and then I think maybe I could get to 5K and then try if I’m feeling good push it on a little bit earlier um I think maybe last time I wasn’t as aggressive as I could be in the final K so I’m definitely going to make sure I’m pushing it hard there and also this one there’s quite an exposed part where it’s quite windy so if I can sort of sit in a gap in a group not a gap the group for this part then I think I’ll do that but just have fun it’s go not just yet just walk into the race start get my number find out what I have and then probably start warming up around 10 I think that’s the wind there9 where need to strong save it for them this is a good sign of a good race look at the number of quarter leaves outstanding this is outstanding now I’m going to go a win go for the win a win I’m a winner my [Music] name what time does Bella start that would be [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] nice oh it’s so close yeah I think youve done it [Applause] yeah I think she did so I was just queueing for the toilet and this little man comes up to me and he goes oh congratulations in your race first finisher and I was like I don’t know what you mean I haven’t run yet he was like oh what race are you doing I said the 10K he said I thought you were in the 2K and then there was just this bit of a pause and he goes how old are you I said 25 and he bursts out laughing goes I thought you were a junior a junior they’re like 12 years old [Music] [Applause] 25ish all [Music] [Applause] great start H can start tucking [Music] relax well done Han well done Han great work relax well done Han great work H keep working as you can hear it was pretty windy which is not ideal for being on your [Music] own this is awesome H you’re looking so strong come on let’s go I missed the memo to smile for the camera but my face shows it was work out there that was brutal like really really tough I don’t know I just think like I went through 3K feeling pretty strong I think I went through like 9:40 or something um and I felt strong but then the group sort of pushed on and I was just left a bit on my own and if I’m honest it was just a hold on till the end and I was like you’re you’re in first place just hold on to that so yeah took the win which I’m really really chuck with but it was a slogan it was brutal but sometimes it is so yeah we got it done sorry we didn’t film the presentation but I took the win in 3316 with a lead of 1 minute and 45 seconds WI a win a chicken dinner lived up to my name got the win um yeah actually on reflection I’m really trough with that it’s a much tougher course than the last one and to to get the win and be just 20 seconds off that like I think that’s a really good place to be so tough conditions we were left waiting around for quite a while so all in all good job done as you can see I am on top of my post- raise [Applause] hydration see you later it thank you T for all the [Music] footage it’s been a long day but we are finally back home and ready to go to bed thank you for watching and don’t forget to like And subscribe all in all good job guys

  1. Running just fractionally slower than the previous one in much worse conditions is clearly a step in the right direction. And well done for getting the win. 🤠💢👍
I'm glad that you didn't get trapped in the lift. I did once.😒 All the lights went out and I had to wait half an hour to be rescued. When they prised the doors open the lift had got stuck between floors and they had to lower a ladder down so that I could climb out. 😵‍💫

  2. Can see why they thought you was a junior, you do look and sound a lot younger than 25. Your form looks fantastic superb running. Thanks for the videos look forward to the next one.
