Currently looking to get a new frame as my current one is pretty old and probably on its last legs. I had it powdercoated gold when i ordered it through a friend. but it wasnt exactly like the mirror finish you see on this eastern frame. (not a big fan of eastern so just buying this frame doesnt work, would rather just pick one i like and have it re-painted)
Does anyone know what this process is actually called so i can start inquiring places with the correct info?
i find it hard to believe that mass produced frames are truly all gold plated. quite a while back mutiny mass produced a similar gold/chrome frame and in 2016 they had one for grant C's signature that was a shade darker.
my assumption is that it is actually brass plated or chrome dipped and sprayed over with a transulent yellow.
any advice/recomendations are apprecited. thanks!

Two ways, it’s a coloured lacquer on top of raw, and it’s chrome with again a gold lacquer on top.
Tbh from experience neither holds forever, with the lacquer only option developing the usual cosmetic rust spiderwebs within a year.
Just to let you know that the Rhonda is pretty heavy frame and is pretty overbuilt. I don’t think it’s necessary for normies.
The Grim Reaper comes in Gold too and is probably better choice if you’re after that colour but it is more expensive.
On cars it looks tacky as fuck and reserved for Persian drug dealers with leased AMG Mercedes hahaha
On a bike though it probably wouldn’t look too bad, you’d be able to counter it with black parts to make the gold and stand out and accent it with gold hardware to keep the theme going.
Like black bars, stem, forks, cranks and seat post with gold stem bolts, hub nuts, pegs, rims, seat clamp/bolt etc etc.
Black and chrome are a timeless match haha they always look good together, its just getting the ratio right so one doesn’t drown out the other haha
Wait… Does the hole for the bolt of that seat clamp going through the seat stays..? Haven’t seen that done before…
