Made out of better materials to higher tolerances. SLX and Deore are like in-house counterfeits. Might look the same but with different paint but they’re made from softer cheaper materials to a lower standard so basically means you won’t get as much use out of them before the piston seals leak. If you’re a hard rider that does a lot of riding XT pays for itself in the long run one as they come with upgraded metallic pads as standard and will work for longer without issues. SLX fine for casual riders who don’t ride often.

a few grams in weight, SLX one of the best value groupset levels, get most of the top end innovations for a lot cheaper and it only weighs a slight bit more.
