Budapest, Szentendre, Vác, Hungary Bicycle Trip

Riding from Budapest to Vác on EuroVelo 6, with a stopover in Szentendre for lunch.

A total distance of about 40km it includes a very short, less than 5 minute, ferry ride across the Duna river.

I got lost multiple times as there is quite a bit of construction on the paths resulting in detours. A portion is on gravel paths and rutted dirt trails at the moment. Some sections are on low traffic roads.

all right welcome it’s the 4th of June 2020 and I had planned on leaving at 10 in the morning for scent injury and then but on a bicycle ride from Budapest but I misjudged how much I could carry I had about twice as much as I could carry so I had to first come from the north of Budapest where I was staying in my super nice flats with the view of the Doudna to my mini storage facility on the south side of Budapest so that took an hour and I was carrying plastic bags and even had a full-size an umbrella so that was fun and now as you can see I’m still stuffed but I’m down to one pair of shorts one pair of pants two sets of cycling out clothes and most of it I’m also gonna have a heavy backpack I have my laptop and most everything is taken up with photography equipment the drone GoPro cameras gimble’s so this should be fun I am off now for since injury I think it’s gonna rain today so though dry off your weight and dry off no big deal so let us begin okay it’s been about an hour since I left the mini storage facility as you can see I’m in front of Parliament on the west side the buda side of the river on my way to sentence a traffic is light not many cyclists or pedestrians I guess usually most of them are tourists besides nice makes it easy looking for a post office is I have something to mail and then carry on give you a quick look around [Music] and it is a Thursday so it’s a working day and even though all the restaurants and pubs everything is open just not busy looks like a normal day except for the tourists all right I’ll see you from wherever I decided to stop next I mean it’s a scent injury now sitting down for at lunch and a drink I have mojito or a mojito if you it’s quite tasty I’ve been to scent injury once before in the offseason and so it was exactly like this not busy at all this is a escape place for Budapest people it’s known as an artistic town but as I have no taste annoyed at all that’s as far as I can take that it’s a nice little old town to walk through but I can’t do that is I have my bicycle with all my stuff on it and it’s easy to take but we can walk over and look at the Strand or Riverside or Riverwalk whatever you want to call it go take a look at that my mojito is quite tasty not overly sweet I think it might be real sugar and handmade instead of just syrup there you go there’s the Doudna River I think on the other side is an island and then there’s more Doudna river a little floating cafe as you can see it could hold a lot of people but no tourists I recommend if you come to Budapest though you should come here on the train or assignment a train it’s like a big tram light rail it’s only a half hour and $1 or $2 come out for a day and come out for a couple hours and walk through the little cobblestone streets okay still it since injury move down a little ways from the restaurant I’m gonna fly a quadcopter so hide from the cops a little bit just in case it they get their knickers in a bunch it is a little bit windy so that might put a damper on it but I don’t think I have to worry about the planes flying over helicopters doing the mosquito spraying which by the way is actually very cool to watch in these cities because they fly just over the buildings and old Russian biplanes yak 2 or 4 I think our Antonov 2 or 4 I think it’s Antonov anyway it’s very cool to watch to sit in the city centers and they just buzz right overhead spraying for mosquitos very cool so try to get a bird’s-eye view with the quadcopter and let’s see some observations on those right up here fashion is terrible telling women how to dress denim is never in fashion always looks terrible on women skirts dresses look the best the high cut the granny granny jeans granny pants seem to be in which is just as bad as what was it the last few years those stupid pyjama looking things they were over there one piece when I go to Vegas it’s awful because every single woman wears those short two tops especially when their bodies can’t handle it and it’s just they all look exactly the same trying to be different trying to be sexy and they all look the same and boring and then when you see one well-dressed woman she really stands out even if she’s not extremely pretty or anything just well-dressed makes it seems so easy but obviously it’s not and beyond that everyone is hideous looking at everybody around the human race seems to be get getting uglier zwi integrate seem to be better when fringe where fringe Russians were Russians though actually take that back a lot of Russians are beautiful or Afghans are beautiful because they bred with the Russian soldiers not by choice probably but still it happened they have those pretty blue eyes and the dark skin and everything so any yeah whatever I don’t know which way it goes but everyone is hideous or plane maybe not habeas they’re not Hunchback of Notre Dom but they’re very plain and uninteresting just south is since injury on the right in it’s quite ugly there’s a water treatment plan so it smell bed there’s a fire station so those poor guys are right next to the water treatment plant there was a recycling center a landfill some factories can never tell the Communist factories if their factories are office buildings they all look depressing and then there were the there was a military base so there’s quite a bit of ugly stuff south of sent injury I’ve never ridden along the river from Budapest distance injury I’ve taken the train I’ve taken a car but along the river there’s a lot of nice tons of bars and beaches River Beach so it’s not you know it’s not Hawaii but it’s a river beach but it’s for a half hours away from Budapest it would be a nice place to hang out tons of bars I guess for the cyclist but they were mostly empty they were open few people but mostly empty so it’s quite nice and as you can see the river is pretty wind is kicking up I think the rain is gonna come in pretty soon I don’t know how much further I have to go I don’t plan this out very well I kind of just look on the map and ballpark it I have no idea how much further it is to the hotel to watch I don’t think I’m gonna be able to play the quadcopter this wind is probably beyond its limits so I will continue on all right made it Bunch hotel something in the air allergies are killing me so some trees pollinating maybe it’s the come tree I used to know what that one was called now I just know it by its nickname I can smell it so maybe it’s that one that gets my eyes also the billions of nets running through those clouds and again I’m stuck in my eyes probably an inhale anyway it’s after the shower yeah this place is ridiculous the host is flamboyant this over-the-top nice but this is out of some thing visiting your grandma it is not my style I like the hospital clean sterile check out the bathroom can’t tell with the lights off when it pink straight down to the seventies just like visiting grandma so yeah oh and if you didn’t notice carpets in the bathroom and around the toilet [Music]
