So I'm going to start with I know nothing about bike repair. My bike is getting old and I figured a new chain, cassette, bearings and derailleur would be a good way to make the ride a bit nicer. I also replaced the derailleur hanger since the old one was super bent. I've followed YouTube directions for most of this and can't seem to get this to shift correctly. Any help is super appreciated. Thanks

That is a HUGE jump for the chain.
Did you replace all the parts with the exact ones you had? Your new derailleur might not like that cassette
I think the 2 screws on the right side are the limit screws. They shouldn’t have to be all the way down. You can try to adjust them to see if that helps.
You’ll want to loosen up those limit screws. They are the two in the bottom right corner of the last photo
Check limit screws. Also might wanna adjust that B screw to push the derailleur out a bit to accommodate the jump to the bailout gear.
To be clear you’re only talking about the next cog to the one the photos show it on?
And not the massive black cog which I assume is being used as a dork disc behind that?
I’m having the same issue with an Acera rear derailleur struggling to climb up to the 34t first gear.
suspect it is the compatibility as the guiding jockey wheel of the derailleur is very close to the gears despite b-tension adjustment.
currently giving a couple of freewheels a WD40 soak, they’re pretty firmly on.
these freewheels have their first gear at 28t
this should give more space between the jockey wheel and gear teeth, making shifting smoother according to my calculation and theory
what do we reckon ? also does anyone have a reliable method of removing a freewheel ?
have clamped the splined freewheel removal socket tool in the vice , put the wheel into the tool , and turned like a bus driver left.
I got the 1g34t freewheel off of the hub this way, but have had no success trying to get the replacement freewheels off of their hub threading.
yelling and cursing would have been heard from the carport were anyone to walk by at the time, for sure. heard from the street.
