Need to get a new crankset for my wives bike. The threads for the pedals are stripped. Realistically any square taper 3 chain ring set should work right? The less messing I have to do the better to get it up and running immediately.

Most 3x cranks will work. Chainline might differ slightly, and you’ll probably want to get a 170 again.
In theory you can get the stripped threads repaired, but I doubt it would be worth it.
Don’t need the thread’s to install. Deal with that down the road. Cutting it off and throw away in a few years.
Edit sorry thought I read extractor thread’s. A thread insert is a legit repair and done right will last year’s. Helicoil brand works fine. There is also a top hat nut available
I would try and get the same 170 length and as similar gearing as you can get. A different crank may sit farther out and need a new BB or may be perfectly dependent on the crankset.
A new crankset might require a new bottom bracket spindle length, so keep that in mind. In other words, you might need to replace the BB unit as well.
170mm is a pretty standard length good for people with average length legs and average height. Shorter cranks might be a good idea if she’s shorter than that. IME, cranks cannot be too short (within reason) but they can be too long. It’s complicated and there is no consensus on that topic.
