Pictures are of course cherry picked, even when I’m riding dirt and gravel on purpose to get there about 2/3s of my 33km commute is paved (~6-7km on the road for a lack of alternatives). This is central Germany, no mountains but I’m taking a couple hills since I’m going across 3 valleys to get to work. Some bypasses to save time but the first pic is a 4km detour + extra climb just for the view
Still love this route, took the new bike for a spin on it for the first time to get to nightshift yesterday. This morning I got super unlucky with the weather, downpour came in 2 hours early so I was drenched 2km in. Was eating fresh water off the street every time I rode in the drops due to lack of fenders but damn if it wasn’t fun as hell once I couldn’t really get any more wet.
On my home stretch (dirt road) my playlist threw me one of my favorite songs so I was racing the thing like a man possessed. Once the thing has dried off I’ll have to wash the mud off my saddle, my pants looked like I shit myself but it was great lol

I commute occasionally. I’m outside of Boulder CO and have some of the nicest commuting paths right next to my house. Then plenty of world class gravel along those same routes.
That looks pretty spectacular though.
