I can only tell you that the pictures do not do it justice, Iceland is beyond beautiful , it is just absolutely stunning and it is an amazing place to cycle. Going to go back next summer.
Yes, Iceland is fascinating place. It's on my list. I would love to visit and bicycle the entire country. 2014 I'll be bicycling South America, and then, yes, Iceland would be so interesting.
Yes, keep the sea on your left and you can't really go wrong……….Hope to go to Iceland on my third cycling trip this May(2014) which is early season but the roads are quieter. First time I cycled there I got caught in the aftermath of the Eyjafjallajokull volcanic eruption near Skoga and had to turn back due to ashstorms and ride the Golden Circle/Vestmannaeyjar and Hvlafjordur riding around 900 miles which was equivalent to riding the ringroad which I hope to ride this time. headwinds can be tough but the scenery is amazing and I love the road between Vik and Egillstadir! Infact its all good but the bit between the Akranes tunnel and Reykjavik is horrible with too much traffic and not much hard shoulder!
Hi, I plan to cycle around the island this summer. I entend to use a touring bike with 700X25 tires. Do you have suggestions of the route to use? Do you have an itinary that you can share?France

Possibly the most peaceful 100km route on the planet. Iceland is on my list and i'll be sure to cycle that route when i'm there.

Nice one! I rode around the island in July. As I think back, the Eastern Fjords also stand out for me for some reason.
