Used Carbon or New Aluminum Canyon?

After my first bike (Trek Domane AL2) was stolen, it's time for a new bike. I ride in a busy city and out to the suburbs, typically between 20-60 mi rides and believe an endurance bike would be best for me as I don't plan to race but enjoy feeling like I'm riding fast. I've never owned a carbon bike and assumed an Aluminum frame would be more resilient against city street debris. I'm continuing to learn bike maintenance and am willing to transition from rim to disc brakes. Budget is <$2000.

Was looking at a new Endurace 7 ($1700) as I wasn't able to find one used locally, however, I came across a used 2023 Endurace CF 7 ($1600) which is obviously a carbon frame . The used bike is truly in excellent condition as the seller didn't enjoy the bike's geometry but was unable to return it in time. Minor consideration is that I'm not in love with the cactus color lol. Given what I've described, would you go for the used bike given my reservations? Or should I just stick to aluminum?

If you think both are bad ideas and a hould stick to big box brands, I've also considered a new CAAD13 105 or Trek Domane AL 5 Gen 4. Both of these options would be pushing my budget, and I rather have a bike sooner than later.
