Pics from a solo overnight trip in Spruce Knob – Seneca Creek Recreation Area, West Virginia. I had a perfect weather window to set off on a two day trip covering as much of the beautiful wilderness trails as I could. The terrain was mostly single and double track with difficult rocky sections including plenty of hike a bike. The Rhododendrons where blooming like crazy with ferns and moss lining the trail everywhere I went. I camped on Seneca creek trail sourounded by waterfalls and even had a dip in the creek to clean up before climbing in my sleeping bag. A short hike to a 1971 crashed plane site and a final climb up to Spruce knob (highest point in WV) rounded out this adventure better than I could have hoped for. I covered 60 miles over the two days which isn’t much but I enjoyed moving slow all day and soaking it in. Typing this as I’m stuck in an office day dreaming about the next trip.
