Been trying to figure out how to get more than just a little bar turn and tiny kick out. Found this jump a couple days ago and have been practicing. How’s it looking? (Thanks to this stupid state I live in this is the biggest jump I’ve found in like 30 miles.)

You’re definitely getting the idea, but you’re gonna need a bigger jump. Great job on the setup turn, but it looks like you’re pivoting your back wheel instead of rotating the bike as a unit. This is why you came down sideways even though you counter-steered the entire time you where in the air. I can’t really explain the physics (something about gyroscopes…), but on a larger jump you can actually take off completely straight and initiate the whip mid-air by turning your bars, shoulders and hips. That mid-air rotation is the core skill of whipping. The pre-turn setup you did here is good practice for advanced whips and being able to place the back wheel mid-air is super helpful for trail riding, but you need a bigger jump with more airtime to actually learn how to whip.
