Hello gravelers,
I have the possibility to buy the surly for 900 euros and the Cinelli for 650.
It will be my first real road bike and I will use it for commuting and some weekend backpacking trips.
At the beginning I was more attracted by the look of the Cinelli but now I'm thinking that I might get bored more easily and get too much he attention of robbers in the city. Also the look of surly might be more timeless. I live in Amsterdam where it rains a lot.
Most importantly the steel frame looks way more durable, holding more the value and better for wet conditions like Amsterdam.
The price has an influence but not that much. I want the better value.
What's your opinion? 🙂

Steel is real! While I haven’t spent much time on aluminium bikes, I much prefer my steel bikes in terms of ride feel. I’m a pretty big guy so I’m not too worried about little extra weight on for a steel frame. A Surly is also just a super cool bike.
