If you never had problems with recurring flats, then you are just wasting your money and energy.

maybe not so fast tyres, but very durable, yes, good choice

They’re not fast, but their puncture resistance is pretty good if that’s your priority.
If you’re in an area with a lot of junk on the road, just remember that you should stop after each ride and visually inspect your tires for glass/metal, then pick out any pieces stuck in there. You can use a key to do this, or any little metal thingy with a pointy end.
These tires are puncture *resistant*, but if you just leave a chunk of glass in your tire it’ll eventually work its way through the rubber and cause a flat after several rides.

Gatorskins are really worth every penny. I have only been flat for once and take note, I use this bike everyday on harsh roads. The staple wire did not easily let air out of my tubes, I just noticed it when I arrived home. The only downside is it is slippery on wet asphalt but overall, worth the investment.

Gatorskins are great if you want a reliable 25c or 28c.
But if you’re ok with 32c tires, you can get marathon supremes, which are tougher and faster than gators. They just don’t come smaller than 32c.
Traction sucks on wet surfaces but for city riding I love them.

i’ve had the same gator skin 23s on my fixed gear for a year now and the rear is just now wearing out from skids so if you’re on a single speed it should literally last you until it dry rots imo

Definitely worth it
Worth every penny…I get 1 flat tire a year and I ride 8k-10k miles a year
Been buying since they were $25.
Only tire I’ll buy.
It’s niggling, but logos line up with the stems.
Thousands and thousands of Km in these. Great tires. Worth it
Great tires for everything. The only flat I’ve ever gotten on my gator skins has been a pinch flat, which is 100% user error.
oh man, so many memories of me and my friends having skid competitions on our garbage built fixies with gatorskins
Run them on all my rides 👍🏻
Performance? It’s a slow tire: https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/road-bike-reviews/continental-gatorskin-2015

Can attest.
