so here I am at the bilford top lock Perdis well Leisure Center and it’s time to head down to Worcester Riverside let’s go along the Birmingham and Worcester Canal welcome to another Jiggy jog yes where I’m on my Sunday long run and this is just part of section of the long run nice slow and easy in total I think today I’ll be doing about 22k um but this last little section will be around 8ish kilm 7 km so sit back relax and enjoy this little Jiggy jog along the beautiful Birmingham and Worcester Canal here in Worcester I know ni he’s quite enthusiastic how about the little one [Laughter] here hi there morning you would have seen there that I was walking past those dogs and uh as I wasn’t on the lead a couple of weeks ago I got bitten by a dog that wasn’t on the lead so for me as a precautionary measure I’ll walk past dogs and they were totally fine but you never know sometimes you can scare them or startle them and they’ll just bite out of fear which is not good um but strictly speaking the owners should have them on a lead um but that’s their responsibility not mine so so I’m taking action by doing a easy walk keep things Pleasant and everybody’s happy man all right thank you hey hey how you doing happy Sunday and you good to see familiar faces here on the run and that lady just there he’s training for London Marathon the first London Marathon eh what a way take go she little nor Castle yeah see you see you later all right don’t thank you sorry morning now that’s good dog training skills here you see how he was in total control of that dog absolutely brilliant thank you the value value my f how put it I what from that my gosh thank you very much don’t know if you can hear the bells wor the cathedral just over in that direction Sunday morning coming to the end of my long run and hear in those bells is Oh So Glorious there’s a nice wind blowing in my face now so I don’t know if you can hear me with the wind blowing on the camera o there you go that swamp was making itself known to me here we’re passing the commander which a bit of history for you is where the English Civil War finished Oliver Cromwell and the round heads defeated Charles II here there you go get a history for you I know from the distance here you see the Pikes and the round heads helmets yes Worcester is the last Royal City to fall I out that far just pass in guys thank you all right thank you thank you cheers yep ni all right all well done look this is digas Basin to my right here where lots of narrow boats stay people living and this is actually part of the Worcester City Half Marathon route I think it’s part of the the 10K route as well comes around uh this section of Worster on okay nice and windy out here exposed with the open River oh the wind’s really picked up now here thankfully only a short distance to dig this bridge till I turn around and hopefully the wind will be behind me but as any serious R will tell you there’s always a headwind that there’s never a Tailwind no but there is a very strong headwind right now morning morning guys hello CH long right and here we are coming up to diglas bridge FR yeah when we’re now coming along to the we on the river 7 over to my right is the river and know we yeah we’re coming along the last stretch of this Riverside Park up to bromich parade and that’s where this whil the long run won’t finish there that’s where I’ll finish the recording and there in the distance is Worcester Cathedral and you can hear the bells chiming what a glorious sound that is it really does lift the spirits when you’re on a run hearing those bells I want [Applause] there you go there’s the [Music] cathedral and the bells are chiming and now you can hear my footsteps as the bells have stop chiming thank you and here we passing on the right whil we’re coming through Birmingham University Rowing Club members on the right we have the swan sanctuary which is over there how fitting that we come to the end of our run here and finish on the Riverside Park with the sign here for sir Edward Elgar one of the greatest composers of our times born here in muster we salute you sir Edward Elgar I hope you’ve enjoyed this run this is just part of my Sunday long run Jiggy jog as you can see it’s so beautiful and glorious here albeit very windy hope you enjoyed it thumbs up subscribe hit that alarm Bell share it with your friends etc etc love you all see you all soon

  1. Cheers Donato. Super run and enjoyed the 'running commentary' and history lesson.
    Some of the paths looked very narrow, with mooring rings and dogs as an added hazard but it looks a really nice route.
    Sound of cathedral bells is so soothing – the sound always reminds me of Yorkshire Marathon. 🙂
    Got to say, camera copes well in the wind.

  2. Thanks Donalto ran that route many times when I lived in Worcester, I then ran over bridge up to & thro' racecourse, waterworks, Ghelvelt park, Bromage Rd back to Perdiswell. Fantastic run.
