Just got my brand new aeroad. There is this hole here in my down tube right between the screws for the bottle holder. Obviously it is there on purpose, there seems to be a cable tie in there or something. Anyway, it’s a bit strange since stuff like water or dust can easily enter the frame here. Any ideas what that might be and if there is a cover or a plug for it?

I believe there is supposed to be a plug that goes in there. Have a search on this sub because I’ve seen this same question posted quite a few times. And congrats on the new bike!
I think that is the holder for the di2 battery
My Endurace has the same thing and the explosion diagram says it’s a “Brake Hose Guide”

I found similar hole on my Grand Canyon and on the inside of the frame, it has a loop that holds the Bowden and hose in place, I guess to prevent it from rattling around.
