Have been trying to clean up the bike after a muddy ride and I’m noticing what sounds like dirt and grime in my bottom bracket as I turn the cranks. Haven’t noticed before removing chain and starting to clean out the derailleur and jockey. Now, as I gently turn the cranks I can hear dirt grinding somewhere around or in the bracket. I assume the BB is sealed like every other I’ve ever had, but this amount of grinding seems more than normal.
Do I need a brush or high pressure hose to flush it out? Is it something besides dirt?
