Got new (to me) forks. Steerer is a little too short. Is this dangerous to ride or okay for a short commute for a couple weeks before getting new forks?

That’s no good. There needs to be enough for the lock nut, and usuallt a washer too.
I wouldn’t ride that. There’s no way to properly secure that upper cup.
