Submariners are built with stainless steel tubing, and were sold as reliable bikes to beach communities. The stainless doesn’t flex, so it rides stiff and it’s easily my heaviest bike, but she’s an excellent bad weather commuter especially for Chicago winters and rainy spring seasons.

Love it! The pre Grant Peterson Bridgestones don’t get enough love.
Might be the finest kept Bridgestone I’ve seen.
Had one of these and loved it.
Not a lightweight, but had great racks and some really cool features like a brake bridge mounted lock and the rear hub was threaded for a drum brake on the non-drive side.
Mine was a little older and used 650A (26x 1 3/8”) wheels/tires.
You don’t often see these out of the water… I’ll see myself out
I thought stainless steel was much softer than cromo, maybe the stiffness is due to thicker walls?
Oh wow. I’ve only ever seen these with the Kabuki branding, very cool
Nice! Love the big ratcheting stem shifters as well!
