Can you guys help with a beginner hub guard question? Tried posting in the beginner thread without luck. Thought I’d post here and add some photos.

I just bought a secondhand Cult Devotion complete, and bought this drive-side hub guard.

The instructions say

drive side guard installation requires replacement of existing hub lock with the hub lock provided

…but the spacer(?) shown in that pic that was included isn’t threaded, but instead slides on like a washer. Based on that, I can’t “replace” the existing threaded locking nut with this one. I’ve tried every stack up I can imagine, but nothing seems right.

Can anyone advise what I’m missing here?

For reference, this is what my rear cassette is.

Thanks for any help you can offer

Your hub is not a ‘CREW CASSETTE”?

The specs of the current devotion just say “Sealed 9T Cassette Hub” all the other other aftermarket parts on the current specs for the Devotion say things like:

CULT Forged Salvation V5 Top Load Stem

    CULT 510 Chain

    2.40 CULT x VANS Tires

I would think if they used the Crew cassette the specs would say so.

As the other poster stated, that guard is specifically for the Crew cassette, not a universal fitment. I’d suggest the Gsport uniguard or Cinema VR if there is not a specific guard available for the OEM cult cassette. The Gsport is chromoly while still being inexpensive, which is nice
