I have a 26" MTB as is popular on this sub(pictured), and my usual kryptonite u-lock with I think 9"x4" interior dimensions is often kinda tight even on a normal bike rack if I want to lock frame and front wheel. I'll generally do a cable or smaller u-lock for rear wheel.

Doing some quick googling it seems like that's on the larger side of u-locks that are out there… Are you all using those beefy chains? Or something else? I know the bigger they get the easier they are to pry open but a bit of wiggle room would be nice

Curious to see responses as well.

Upvote for purple bike. Wish I had an extra upvote for Bridgestone. Who makes that basket? Looks like a big’n

  2. Kryptonite Evo mini + a short cable for the front wheel, Sheldon brown method. My beater has security skewers so just the Evo usually.

  3. With a basket like that you can probably go as big as you wish.
Strap anything on the side and the sky is the limit.
That said, I run a biggish chain indeed
