hello I’m Chris in this video we’re going to have a look at which lane to choose at roundabouts and when to signal if you’ve got your first lesson on roundabouts coming up soon or you just need a refresh then this video is for you you’ll know you’re approaching roundabout as you might see this warning sign and then a bigger sign like this one you might also see Road markings or a showing which lane to choose signs and markings indicating which lane you need are useful but not all roundabouts have them and it’s these roundabouts that we’re going to have a look at today this sign shows that the roundabout I’m approaching has an exit to the left ahead and to the right I could also go full circle around the roundabout and back the way I came I’m turning left at this roundabout first exit so I’ll need the left hand lane check the mirrors signal left break in giving we to any traffic on the right it looks busy first gear looking right to see how busy it is and ahead so I keep in position and keep an eye on the car in front quick glances wait for the Lorry now it looks clear check the interior and left hand mirror and cancel the signal if it hasn’t gone off already although the Lorry was in the right hand lane I still had to wait for it as it might have wanted the same exit as me this time I’m following the road ahead second exit I’ll go in the left hand lane as I’m not turning right the left hand lane isn’t blocked and there aren’t any signs or Road markings tell him any different no signal needed on approach as I’m going ahead now I have to give way to the traffic approaching from the right but be careful F not to stare to the right you also need to look ahead where you’re going as you need to keep in lane and the driver in front could break at any time plan your route as it’s really important once it’s safe to go to keep in the left outside Lane as there might be another road user on your right as I’m passing the exit before the 101 I’ll check mirrors and signal to exit signaling left to exit informs other Road users that you’re leaving the roundabout if you’re just starting to practice roundabouts and feel there’s just too much to do on approach then try approaching them a bit slower this will give you more time to be prepared especially if it’s busy you’ll be able to process everything quicker with practice and experience at the next roundabout I’m turning right third exit I’ll need the right hand lane for this check my mirrors now signal right giveway to the right but I’m also watching the driver on the left as they’re a little out of their Lane all clearing safe accelerate up to second gear keeping the right hand lane as I’m passing the exit before the one I want check mirrors signal left and move over to the left if it’s safe before I Cross Lanes and maneuvered over to the left to exit I checked my mirrors and I also had a quick sideway glance to the left just in case there was someone next to me that I couldn’t see in the mirrors always look out for other drivers that might not keep in their Lane and be ready to react especially look out for long Vehicles such as lorries and buses as they might straddle Lanes you could also Drive full circle round roundabout and go back to where you came from check mirrors signal right avoid the hatch markings and keep to the right check mirrors and signal to exit sometimes the signal will go off itself on the roundabout when it needs to be on listen for the ticking sound and put it back on if needed watch this video next if you’re unsure when to go at roundabouts if you hesitate at roundabouts then this video might help thanks a lot for watching please like And subscribe as it really helps us make more videos in the meantime keep safe on the road and bye for now

I passed like 5 years ago yet I still enjoy these vids. God bless you sweetheart ❤️
Thank you!
I just passed two weeks ago.your videos were so helpful for me, especially the roundabouts, as my test centre was in Borehamwood 😊
Thanks
So what do you do if you’re on the inside of the roundabout wanting to turn off but another car coming up on your outside- just go round or speed up? Are they in the wrong?
Question, if I may.
When at a roundabout with only two exits. If I was to take the second of the two exits, which would be the third exit on a regular roundabout, would I treat it as a second or third exit? 😅
If that makes sense 😂

Hi, are you doing any filmed mocked test anytime soon?
Big roundabouts with 6 exits and four lanes pls.
3:39 *uses horn* 😂
I know it’s not a legal requirement, but when I’m going ahead I still indicate right until I’m on the roundabout and it’s not feasible for me to take the first exit. In my opinion it makes an oncoming driver less likely to lazily assume I’m taking the 1st exit, and pull out on autopilot. do you agree with my thought process or is the signal useless for what I’m trying to accomplish?
Hello, I just came back from my test and I PASSED! Huge shout out to your videos and my instructor. God bless 😊
i tried booking and looking at the DVSA website today to book a uk driving test
they keep giving me a error 15

Today I passed my exam for the first try. didn't take any driving lessons, and just watch your videos many times. I am from Turkey and I have been driving more than 15 years but opposite side. Your videos really useful and help me to pass my exam. Thanks for everything 🎉

Thank you
I always get so overwhelmed trying to know what to do and drive at the same time, this is super helpful to gain understanding before applying it, simple and to the point, tytyty
Roundabouts were introduced into my area of the central U.S. about ten years ago.
I'm not a fan of them, generally speaking, as they now exist in my area, especially when they have been installed at intersections where the speeds of approaching traffic are relatively high.
It's my experience that many drivers treat roundabouts as being merely annoying U-bends in "their" roadway, slowing for and yielding to no one.
Signage and lane markings are woefully inadequate, and courtesy and cooperation by a significant percentage of drivers is nonexistent.
Roundabouts might be successful in the U.S. in 100 years or so, once signage gets up to snuff and a few generations of people grow up with roundabouts, losing the bad habits of those drivers who currently believe that they alone are the owners of whatever section of road they currently occupy, plus the couple of hundred yards (or meters, whatever, they're close to being the same thing) ahead of them.
As for now, I go significantly out of my way to avoid what I've determined are the more dangerous roundabouts in my area, and my head is on a swivel at the roundabouts that I do use.
I passed my tests today with 4 minors. I have been watching your videos and would like to say thank you.
I PASSED 🫶 all the videos were so helpful. Top tip! Please be observed,
And relaxed
