I'm able to get this bike for $200, if someone can please help me identify which year it could be? and if it's worth it / upgrade ability if i can add hydraulic brakes? This would be my beginner trail bike.
Specs: Travel 100mm fork, Acera Shimano

Its a 2007 I think. I wouldn’t pay that much for it. I thought about getting a 26 in mountain bike when I first started mountain biking and I am glad I didn’t do it.
I found a used Giant Talon 2 and it’s pretty great.
If you are just going on bike paths a used hybrid would be more enjoyable and likely cheaper.
