…but the fixie gods overdelivered. Again.
So now I own a RIH amsterdam pista.

As it was supposed to be a parts bin build, not many components are actually fancy. The Miche wheels, oldschool sugino cranks sporting a 52 teeth chainring linked to a 17 tooth cog with a brand new chain, new shimano bottom bracket and a Look carbon fork is all I could muster up to give justice to this beautiful frame.

On my quest for a parts bin budget build, I went to meet with a guy that converted a roadbike into a fixie and was willing to sell the frameset with the stem, bars, the seatpost for 50€ in total, and a set of Miche Pistards I wanted for the Colossi.

There in a pile of old road frames I spotted a non drilled bridge and asked how much he wants for the frameset. After some back and forth with the price I left with the frameset and the wheels for 180€ and the ever-growing feeling I just robbed someone.

This turned out to be true as a RIH pista can be ordered for over 2000 euro on the website of the company. I’m still checking if mine is real but even if that isn’t the case,

I think the bike has loads of character and is an absolute blast to ride and I’m excited to use it.
