  1. i mean, if you want to be associated with the worst personality in cycling history sure. i’d pass on that even if it were free.

It’s a Trek and it looks to be well set-up and in great shape. $175 sounds pretty good. So yeah, Livestrong was Lance Armstrong’s thing. If the Armstrong connection is a bother, strip the decals off and you’ve got a decent bike for the money. If it’s a real big bother, don’t buy it. Up to you.

  3. Considering the costs of the Bontrager components when brand new, they easily out-value the whole purchase altogether, main bicycle assembly not included.

So ask yourself… can you save money by possibly getting a frame for free and just buying Bontrager wheels + saddle to add on? Assuming it also has all its lines and derailleurs with the cassettes and main gears included with the frame.

I’ve done some digging on those specific wheels, or the wheelset altogether. They’re not just *any* Bontrager wheels. These are specially made for Trek models only. They’re 10-point spoke (20 since it’s paired at each point). Purely a stylistic choice, but significant in identifying them from other wheels.

They go for about $180 as a front + rear set.
