Just bought a new GRX 1×12 groupset and the only option from the retailer was a 40T front chainring. Looking to get a 42T or 44T ring, but not finding many options. The only ring I can find that is specifically for 12 speed Shimano chains in the asymmetrical 110BCD GRX size is from Wolftooth (https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/products/110-bcd-asymmetric-4-bolt-for-shimano-grx-cranks). I do love Wolftooth products, but I’m not 100% decided on ring size, and $170 is a lot to spend to get 2 chainrings. Anyone know of other options at a slightly lower price point??

Check out garbaruk as well, had some good products from both.
At least on 11s, garbaruk corrected the chainline on grx.
Buy nice or buy twice. I tired Garabuk because it was a little less money and I thought looked cooler. Lasted 3 months or so before it bent. Been on Wolftooth since then and it’s rock solid. Wolftooth make really high quality stuff. Just holding the two chainrings you can see and feel the Wolftooth is built more solidly. Garabuk seemed to prioritize weight over function.
I’ve got the 38T Wolftooth. Set and forget, no regrets. It’s your drivetrain… Buy one, cry once.
Wolftooth is really nice stuff. I use them on my mtb and gravel bike
Pretty sure Shimano produce a 42t for this crank set. Part number Y0SB98020
