Anyone else rocking long sleeve summer jerseys? It’s hot AF in SoCal, and all the sunscreen in the world can’t save my Mediterranean, olive skin from the worst farmer’s tan you’ve ever seen 🥵
As soon as it hits 85°F or higher, it’s no f*cks given about “the rules” on matching brands. NO ONE makes a better summer-weight LS jersey than Maap 🔥🔥
Lol yeah my girl does strictly. She’s Mediterranean too😂. Castelli and Rapha core long sleeves for her

I like that protone? Does that have better luck with the glasses stems not hitting the retention system in the back ?

I only wear long sleeve jerseys or sun sleeves.

my girl wears summer long sleeves exclusively. Thanks maap for their evade sale 😂

Yep I do all the time in the UK. I now have a hand tan. Very odd.

I’ve been wearing a lot of looser fitting mtb jerseys that are still breathable out here in SoCal recently. It’s not super aero but if I’m gunning for speed I’ll suck it up and slather myself in sunscreen with a normal short sleeve kit ugh. I really should invest in some proper summer kit

Embrace the farmers tan.

Guy here and always long sleeves

Isn’t the farmers tan, especially with the well-defined lines from the silicon sleeves, the purest form of CyclingFashion?

In the Australian summer, I wear arm sleeves if I’m out in the middle of the day. Long sleeves are great in slightly cooler conditions.

That red bougainvillea is lovely. Yes, sun sleeves or long sleeves. Don’t have to worry about putting sunscreen on arms then. I actually also wear long finger gloves even in the hottest weather.

I wear long sleeves year round. I’m also covered in tattoos, and don’t want them fading from the sun. So that’s my excuse.

GREAT pic – what an amazing bunch of flowers (knockout roses?)
Somehow with my Welsh/English ancestry, I am olive skinned as well, and get quite tan. In my 50s now, so I try to be good and wear sunscreen… but anyway, in this weather I’ve been wearing sleeveless jerseys.. my tan lines are coming from my gloves and Apple Watch at the moment. Torso gets sun in the pool.
My olive skin also gets the sharpest of tan lines this time of year, but I also run hot so the thought of long sleeves sounds rough. Are these lightweight enough to compensate?

I don’t even like wearing long sleeves in the winter (but I do). Maybe I need to try a summer-weight long sleeve just to see though, it might change my life.
I definitely apply plenty of sunscreen though.

I wear sun sleeves in the summer – don’t love them but don’t love getting burned either. I hadn’t considered a long sleeved jersey – will have to look into them 🙂

I always bike very early or late in the day so I don’t have to worry about tan lines or sunburn. But if I can’t, I just use sun sleeves. They’re usually $25 or less. On occasion, I’ll wear my long sleeve MTB jersey, which is still less than 50% of a $230+ jersey.
OTOH, I wear ankle-length socks because I *really* hate those long sock tan lines!

I don’t have a ls jersey. I’m just too hot and prefer sun screen though I totally understand for light skin people.

70% humidity here I would probably die if I wore long sleeves lol

good post! I’m in socal too
I wish there were more summer lightweight long sleeves!! I have some but they are still too thick.
I use sleeves often but they are ugly. really need some true lightweight options.

Yes! Rocking nothing but MAAP long sleeves in the Azusa area on all my rides lately. Just got back from a 30mi ride that started off at 7am and it got hot and sunny AF super fast. I have been using a new face sunblock and mousse style sunblock that I got from Sephora called Supergoop. Works amazing!

I’m in Phoenix…I tried long sleeves but just couldn’t take it with the heat, felt like I was burning.
My goto sunscreen is La Roche Posay – I layer it on pretty thick and only ride at sunrise, but I still get tanlines and have a nice farmer tan going…that said, I don’t really care what others think and my dermatologist says I’m fine, so I’m not too worried.

I forget the number this rule is but, shaved legs, and sharp tanlines.
One of my favorite things is to show the difference between my arms and my stomach, colour-wise to mortals.
I dont mean to throw shade at people who do longsleeve jerseys, I just dont like having more clothes on…

Skin cancer survivor…. HELL YEAH! I just got a KETL MTN long sleeve and wore it on Sunday. Came home and ordered another. The light weight fabric and loose fit was perfect for keeping cool.

Riding on summer evenings, short sleeves. Riding summer morning to noon, I extend it by using arm protector.
It’s quite hard to find summer-friendly long sleeves.

Rapha pro training long sleeves are my go to, or sunscreens. I have a worsening condition called vitiligo so unfortunately I cannot cultivate tan lines anymore.

Its quite funny I am bald to I wear a mesh cap under my helmet and the tan line on my neck is WILD lol I tried to use lotion my wife gave to me but seems like it does nothing.

What jersey is this? I wasn’t aware of a summerweight LS jersey from MAAP besides the [Pro Air](https://maap.cc/us/products/adapt-pro-air-ls-jersey-sycamore), which (sorry) is hideous.
