I am installing my brakes and when I press them in and release the side with the wire does not release. This is on both the front and rear. Is it an installation error or do I need new brakes????

The brakes did not do this before I disassembled the bike just a couple weeks ago.
The nut that holds the brake mech to the frame may be too tight. Slightly loosen it and see if that makes a difference.
might sound crazy simple but usually the v brakes are attached with 1 screw. so just grab the whole v brake and shift it to the middle and if it doesnt shift you can ajust the screw lmk if that worked
