On August 16, 2009 we biked 12 miles one way (24 round trip) between Henpeck Park in Greece, NY and Brockport, NY. The images on the trail are taken at Snick Hawkins Park, actually across from that small park on the path itself. This was one of the shady areas on the path. We were surprised how tree-less this path was as compared to the paths on the east side, especially from Fairport into Wayne County (Palmyra). If biking between Henpeck and Brockport, please take care of the weather report. If it is very sunny or hot, avoid those times, or if you must go take more water. There is two ‘stops’ along the way you could find water/food- Spencerport and Brockport. It’s not right on the canal, but within about a five minute ride from the canal path. The bridge crossing the canal in these towns crosses on the ‘main street’ with shops/cafes.
As a side note- the path in this route is very flat, minus a gentle slope. It is an easy ride physically, especially if it is not overly hot!

@CraggyShorrock585 Thank you for watching my videos.
1:00 – 1:05 what does the bicycle 5 sign mean?
@jpm1316 Thanks and I always wondered what the green signs were for too! I looked it up. There are State Bike Routes 5 and 9 that follow car/vehicle roads. Some are more utilized than others as the canal pathway is not built up in all sections. If you'd like to know more (YouTube doesn't allow me to post a link here) search for "Bicycling in New York State" and "State Bicycle Route 5" (or 9) on nysdot.gov.
Hope this is helpful.
