    Seen on marketplace for 400$. Is it worth the price? Torpedo frame from the 50/60s. Handlebar and stem are not original

      It would be worth it to me. Love the details on that frame—gorgeous. I love vintage bikes so, yes, if it were local to me I’d have bought it already.

      Kind of depends, if you’re a bike collector with the intention of restoring it, it might be worth it. If you’re looking for something to bop around in town on I’d probably keep looking. That said, it is cool as fuck.

      Honestly the thing I would be worried about the most is the bb. It’s an old bb, probs really hard or impossible to replace. but I’m no mechanic or expert, so

      Absolutely worth it! Those wheels are collectables. You could probably sell them for 300 easy. You could also get some money for the cranks. The frame is gorgeous. You could rebuild it with more modern wheels and cranks and you’d have a bad ass vintage track bike for the streets.

      I would consider keeping the frame and the parts that are safe and make it my every day bike. What Do you think?

      I’d do it. BUT it depends on how handy you are. Putting modern parts on it will require some research. Before you pull the trigger, look at all the welds, top of the seat tube, and head tube. If there’s cracks, hard pass. Part out the vintage pieces and make your money back.

      I’d give 200 for this and sell whatever valuable vintage parts are on it, keep the frame, and put a new drivetrain and wheels on it. And it would fly 🚲

      That things been on Montréal marketplace forever, it would be cool to restore and display but not worth it for tidings

      I’d say leave it to a collector since it’s mostly original (wooden rims and all!). It’s a pretty cool time capsule.

      BUT the other wolf in me says to buy it and ride it. Note that it’ll probably have an italian BB shell, so that will add a bit of complexity to any attempts to ‘modernize’ (even if you’re just moving to vintage Campy or whatever).

      Anyway, if this is your only bike, it wild be wise to pass and get something more ‘practical’.

      But if you, like me, are not very wise, it could be a fun adventure!
