LBS told me I rode my chain past 1% wear on this SRAM SX groupset. I was surprised as the groupset is not even 700km (~430miles) in. But still, he told me that the cassette was also dead and that I need to change it too. Shop is overpriced AF so I may consider go to another shop a bit further but what do yo think about the cassette wear ? Will definitively order a chain checker too…

You won’t be able to tell from a picture. If a new chain slips you can try to bed it in for 100-200km if it‘s only marginal. If it slips badly, new cassette time – only way to tell.
Easiest and cheapest way is to get the tools and do it yourself. 10min job and you’ll save like 30-50% on parts if you buy them online.
