My bike is equipped with direct mount rim brakes and a Shimano SM-CB90 quick release. However, the quick release is extremely difficult to open and sometimes impossible to close. As a temporary solution, I loosened the black screw on the left that secures it to the cable housing, which has made it somewhat manageable. Is this the right approach, or is there a better option available?
